Possibly the best BUT
One of the best text-based games on AppStore. So rich and long, it’s a gem. There are so many choices and the journey is over 10 hours. It may be played more than once as there are so many options, one feels almost lost in the abundance of stories and alternatives. Fabulous. I’m taking away two stars for the political correctness. [Spoiler alert] At some point in the game you’ll be faced with a choice either to side with the Crusaders or your architect Palamedes, who is of Arab origin. The crusaders of course all their life fought against Muslims so they’re prejudiced. But the game doesn’t allow a choice, you must defend the “poor refugee” against the “racists”, there’s no way to find an amicable resolution, you must kick out almost all your best soldiers because they made fun of a refugee. I didn’t want to make a choice and the game punished me for not defending the refugee and all my architects left, I couldn’t build anything anymore, Sherwood was falling into disrepair, I couldn’t reach a higher level in any faction, I barely managed to finish the game. All my team criticised me for not defending Palamedes. It’s absurd and clearly proves that there was a political lobbying here, no other choice in the game has such a dooming implication. For some reason the e-book writer had to put his liberal agenda out there and ruin it for many players. Can we keep political propaganda out of e-books, please? Edit: I did not know that there was a way to keep Palamedes in despite siding with the Crusaders (it seemed that such an option didn’t exist) but if it was the case then that’s great. Perhaps one could hire another architect instead? Nonetheless, I’m bringing back one star extra in my review because I appreciate the developer replying so quickly and providing answers. That’s a professional approach.
