Note Quest has several in-app purchases/subscriptions, the average in-app price is 7.37 ..
The sight reading exercises are well thought out and helpful. I'm using an IPad and the sizing of the notes on the screen is just right. It's obvious that the developer put some effort into creating this app.
Now for the major annoyance. While playing the exercises the screen will randomly change to a bird popping up and telling you that you have earned badges, and completely ruining one's concentration. Please tell me how I can stop this from happening! I am not a child and don't care about badges. Even if I were a child this would still be annoying.
Me
I don’t understand what’s going on. I’m a beginner and I’m lost. Giving me a bunch of notes. I am playing it but I’m not sure if I’m hitting the right notes. It’s not prompting me whether it’s right or wrong. Terrible.
Doesnt work with an audio interface to the piano
The app advertises that it can listen to you play and grade you - but it doesn’t seem to work that way (it doesn’t use your microphone to listen to what you’re playing)
Hope for Problem Readers
Grace Lee has managed to pull off a minor miracle here with this ingenious app! Just when I thought there was no hope for some of my students who were problem readers, the software worked its magic and got them to look at pitches and rhythms in novel ways.
MUST HAVE IN YOUR TOOLBOX ❤️
I’m completely floored! Finally a decent sight reading app every student should have access too. Aside from being aesthetically pleasing and fun for the eye, it seems like it has everything I’m looking for…which is so so rare. Literally. I would think “oh cool, but does it have THIS?” And ten seconds later I find it. Happy premium member and soon to be sight reading pro 💕💕
Feedback after a quick 3 minutes of playing.
Feedback: I just played this app for a few mins. While playing Game Drills and having to find the correct note on the keyboard while seeing the note on the staff, when you turn the phone landscape, it expands the piano keyboard, but the grand staff isn’t fully shown. So when I have to choose the correct Bass Clef note, I’m unable to see which note it wants me to find. You should shrink the grand staff to accommodate it otherwise you can only see the Treble Clef and the very top portion of the Bass Clef.
You should also allow us to disable the microphone while using the virtual piano keyboard. There’s no need for a microphone while using that feature. It drains battery faster and it feels a little unsettling knowing that it’s listening when not needed.
I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro Max and was using the virtual piano keyboard, if it helps you to determine how to fix this. This is just my initial feedback, will update the review at a later time. 3 stars for now.
Practical!
A simple, fun app to help in re-learning notes, sight reading & playing the piano. We love it!
Missing romantic notation’ bummer
Do re mi notation is missing’ also app do not switch in portrait mode with usb plug on top (required for midi plug)
Otherwise, no other app is as good, bummer I can’t use it
Can’t use without paying
Cannot use or try without payment
Expected more
Has potential, extremely disappointed that there is only 2 octaves above and below middle C for piano. The reason I purchased was to help my more advanced students learn and memorize the the really low and high notes. There should be more options to set amount of time, arrange created levels etc. Purchasing was very confusing, too many options for buying and subscriptions.
