Description

Noted provides instant feedback for those trying to learn their notes. The notes are shown on the Grand Staff where users can use the built in keyboard mode or use their own instrument and the device's microphone. Each session is broken up in to 15, 30, or 60 second intervals to allow students, young and old, to stay attentive and interested. Noted provides the ability for students to quickly learn all their notes, including those with sharps and flats. In assisted mode, if an incorrect note is played, it is immediately shown on the staff so the student can compare the note they played to the actual note. This spacial awareness helps to engrain in the students mind how the notes relate to one another. This method is proven to work, even for those who have never had any introduction into music. Simply start, and the instant feedback will have you learning in no time at all.

Best note reader I’ve tried!

This app helped me learn my notes in a game setting. It works great with an actual piano! I just put in on top of my piano and play the notes, which also teaches me how to transition my site reading to a physical instrument! This also works for singing notes as well, to improve my site to vocal skills. Great for any student of the piano or new singers! Give it a try.

Solid for Beginners, Could be Better

I tried a lot of free apps for site reading and so far I like this one the best because it recognizes sounds played on a real piano. That really helps me connect notes on the staff to playing actual notes on the instrument. There are a couple simple things that would greatly improve this app: #1: I second the need to be able to set your own length of time to practice. It’s annoying having to restart practice a bunch of times when I want to work on site reading for 10+ minutes. #2: There is no explanation of what features are unlocked when paying to upgrade the app. I’d be willing to pay but I have no idea what I’d be paying for. A description of what the other “modes” offer would be appreciated. #3: Would be great to be able to practice a wider range of notes (extending the bottom and top ranges in base and treble clef). Thanks for designing this app, I appreciate your work!

Great

This app is amazing for people struggling to learn music notation. It both tests you to read music notes and teaches you how to memorize note sounds. The key mode teaches you how to read notes and is great! The mic mode is good too, however sometimes the sound doesn't go through when i try to hum the note and I get a bad score because of the timer. I have to play my piano for the song to go through which in my opinion, makes it slower to learn. Sometimes, I play a note in the wrong octave and when I try to make it sound right, the sound doesnt go through because the time is almost up. ALMOST. Its not up yet, just give me a chance last second. It would be better if sound got through easier/If the microphone was more sensitive. Overall, great app.

Ok

It is easy to memorize notes but if you want to change to a harder mode than easy, you have to pay.

Great App but could use a small tweak

Ancient Promethean on

So, I recently downloaded it, and it is intuitively easy to use. The scoring system works to help me known how I am doing, and there is a breakdown of how long it takes you to press the right key during mic mode. Mic mode itself is the reason I downloaded this app, and it works very well. I appreciate that the app doesn’t make any noise when in mic mode too. The only thing I would like is a way to go longer than 60 seconds or to quickly restart with one quick press instead of having to go back to the main menu each time. I am thinking a 5 minute option or more would be a good compromise.

Missing important feature

I like this App, but there is no key sound when in “Keys Mode”. Please add for an easy five stars.
