nRF Connect for Mobile Reviews
Fabulous tool, great devs.
This is a great tool I didn’t know I needed this badly until I got it. Really helpful diagnosing some IoT issues by following the BT signals/test connecting.
The devs are responsive and focused. And their witty change logs are only surpassed by their straightforward privacy policy.
Can’t really disconnect from peripherals
When taping “disconnect”, iPhone is not actually disconnected from peripherals. After that, if perform another “scan”, won’t be able to find the previous peripheral. Because it is not disconnected thus not advertising.
This seems like a common issue for BLE debugger app for iOS. Maybe it’s some iOS strange mechanism.
But I’d like to be informed when tapping that “disconnect” button, rather than wasting time on locating it myself.
New update freezes on launch screen DON’T UPDATE!
No matter what I do, latest version if app on iPad Pro launches stuck and requests bluetooth be turned on--even though it is on before app is launched. Device restart doesn't fix the problem. App restart doesn't fix problem. Neither does turning off then turning back on bluetooth at either app or device restart.
Dev needs to fix this promptly. Though I will look for another app and will be deleting this app and terrible update.
Legacy DFU not working
Getting connection timeouts on a legacy DFU device. NRF Connect for iPad works just fine with the same device so it appears to be an issue with the current iPhone version.
Hitting terrible bug
thanks for the app.
I’m working on a bluetooth device
nrf Connect is caching the GATT table. I can’t get it to download the new GATT table! It always shows the old one!
I tried deleting the app. Disabling icloud. changing device name. None of it works, the GATT table is still the old one.
What did work was using my partners phone. I imagine my partners phone will later hit the same issue though.
Broken
Cant go past the initial announcement. The app is unresponsive to the taps.
Pretty good app, but…
The RSSI filter doesn’t seem to work. I set it to -60dBm but devices with much weaker signal (even-100dB) are still showing up in the results.
Won’t find my OBDLink MX+
My phone finds it fine but this app won’t for some reason.
Does the job without hassle
What better can be said about an app? I needed to upload a firmware update to a BLE device I bought. nRF Connect made DFU pretty easy, and it also showed a pretty large subset of the data from the device which was handy for testing.
Great app
Been using it to flash my pinewatch and works flawlessly
