Why ANOTHER reader app?
I read on my phone, tablet, laptop, car, walking dog (audiobooks!)... I have a collection of apps to go with the books. Why does every publishing outfit feel the uncontrollable need to create their own app? Jeez...
Yes, NSTA Reader is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Not enough reviews to make a reliable assessment. The app needs more user feedback.

Why can’t we just use Kindle!?!? Trying to highlight on an IPad is an exercise in frustration. It doesn’t line up and it’s a total hassle. Why? I’d rather not try to highlight something for 1/2 hour, moving my finger up and down only to not be able to highlight only the text I want. I just don’t have that kind of time.
This app will not even let me login. Please update and fix this app.
Downloaded the ebook I bought but can’t open it— the app keeps popping up a window that says the book needs to sync, but I’ve synced a million times. I made sure the app doesn’t need updating too 😔
I'm getting a wrist cramp trying to highlight one of the texts I'm reading...very difficult to get the desired section just right (app wants to grab half-words, entire pages, previous sentences...). Plus, why do I have to click a second time to confirm what I'm highlighting??As well, there's no way to enlarge text to a reasonable level; you can enlarge by pinching, but the app reverts to the original size on the next page (*after* you wait on the text from the previous page to disappear). NSTA/app developers, please fix these bugs!!
When I first used this to read a nsta document I purchased, it was ok... Then whenever a table or image appears it looks normal when you first get a glance of page, and then blurs where you can't read it, also doubling the text (e.g. Page number). It became worse as I got to 2-3 chapters. Not useful, needs bug fixing.
I have always gotten a message and spinning ball saying the library is being updated. I contacted NSTA help and they forwarded all of my data (iOS version, iPad version, memory available, wifi speed, etc.) to the app developer, who says they cannot recreate the problem. The lady at NSTA was wonderful and helpful, but I got nowhere with the developer because I'm not home during business hours to talk to them about it. And I'm too busy with students at school to talk to anybody but students. I got the reader running now on Safari on the iPad. The web browser version doesn't seem to work with Chrome. So I am reading my enhanced ebook now in the browser. I cannot recommend this app at all.
Couldn't even log in, so it wasn't much help.
This new Reader from the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) makes it super simple to take their books and ebooks anywhere I need them and to share with others. Their latest (Discover the NGSS) is so beautiful on this!
