NullG TacOps FAQ

Yes, NullG TacOps is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is NullG TacOps legit?
Not enough reviews to make a reliable assessment. The app needs more user feedback.
This app has been so helpful as a new Battletech player (~7 months, 18 miniatures). It’s so easy to organize and reorganize formations once you put your mechs in, and it’s so nice that the app adds up the BV for you and shows you pretty much every stat imaginable. Having an easily changeable format for lances and companies is a life changer. It’s also fun to get into an in-universe mindset when making units. It’s also super neat that it has both classic and AS elements.
Finally a Btech builder app for iOS!
I played Battletech a long time ago but fell away from the game for almost 30 years. I have have generally avoided building some starter scenarios for my local friends due to the difficulty in building and collating several units for my friends to pick from for a starter game. With this app I built 6 custom groups of mechs (from 1 Madcat, to a lance of smaller mechs) without any real difficulty. And now I just have to hit "print" and the app will print Total War full Mech data sheets for each unit!
I like that I can upload my personal inventory using the scanner in my phone. I have not built any organizations yet.
There seem to be a lot of weird custom units in the search engine that I don't understand. Not a problem for a veteran player, but I had to go back to Sarna.net to check some load outs that were different for no discernible reason. But those mechs tend to be easy to identify for veteran players. There are also tabs like organizations and such that I THINK I understand, but I'm not clear on. I missed everything after the Clan Invasion! Maybe a tutorial or easy to find read me file would be a help?
I highly recommend this app for any Battletech player. It's made jumping back in that much easier!
great app with a couple of issues
i love using this app to build lances and find specific mechs, because it has detailed information on most of them it seems. however, i notice that the “advanced search” function as an issue with filtering for specific weapons. The Weapons search field reads “Weapon Help: This field has been disabled”
Additionally, I notice that some times certain mechs have incorrect weapons info, such as Black Knight BL-9-KNT, which is listed on this app with a Targeting Computer when the official source doesn’t list it as such. This has created issues when using this app in a public setting.
Phenomenal, fragile app
Brilliant tool for the Battletech table top. Unfortunately, it crashed 3(!!) times in the first five minutes of use. Really wish it was more stable.
Truly a hidden gem
This is a great app for IOS users to find and build lists with. No you can’t track damage or do everything through this app but it has been extremely useful to sort through all of the different eras and tech levels for the mechs I love to run. I can tell the developers actually care about this project a lot with constant updates to fix and develop the app. It some some bugs but given time this app will surpass other unit compendiums with ease of use and utility.
Fantastic and still has room to improve
Here is a detailed first 10 minute detailed impression:
This app works wonders. The app still clearly needs work as trying to tie formations to organizations crashes the app. And I have yet to test some features.
HOWEVER for what’s it’s worth it’s weight in data. It has an extremely comprehensive list and after finding out how to fine tune the search system I always found what I needed. I’d love to have the ability to make custom units via the system but as it stands it more than fits my needs and beyond that.
Fair note: I haven’t tried it’s battle tracker yet but so far the only instability is trying to tie formations to organizations. It has some stability issues when making said organizations as well but it’s fairly basic so it’s not that big of a issue if you don’t mind remaking it if it didn’t save some of your progress.
On a personal note other than wanting to be able to make custom units, I believe unit names fonts could be slightly smaller so I can see what units I’m looking at without pulling up their full stat blocks. And if you have multiple units I. The same tab if you back out to look at the others it takes you to the beginning on the bookmarked (or inventoried) list which could possibly use a QOL to not go all the way back.
Very Useful
I was very surprised at how completely easy this was to use. Finding Mech sheets is a bit chore and this makes finding, saving, and building an inventory really easy.
Great but still needs work
I would disregard the one star review stating this app is crap.
It is a 100% free app working with a huge amount of data. Thousands of units all with different specs.
With a little bit of poking around it isn’t very difficult to figure out how to find the unit(s) you need.
Does it still need some work? Yes, it does. But just stating it is crap because you are too lazy to figure it out is disrespectful.
I am giving it 5 stars just to counter the one star ratings.
This app stinks
No instructions on how to use it . Makes it look like all files already loaded it’s a joke
