NYT Cooking Reviews

Loved this app until…

cattaneo on

United States

I use this app religiously. It has been such a great resource for diversifying my cuisine and ingredients, and for accessing one of the best collections of recipes around. The recent link to instacart has made the grocery list functionality almost unusable, with the process of updating the grocery list now hampered by glitches and the button placement very obviously intended to force you to use instacart rather than the grocery list. Why change something that worked so well already??

Boo instant ads

Joninportland on

United States

This is an app I pay to use. I was there was a way to turn off instacart ads since I don’t shop that way.

Love all, hate Instacart

nyc-lisrener-under-35 on

United States

This app has changed my life. I am happy to pay for it. How do I turn off the new “shop on Instacart” integration that is now a part of every recipe? I don’t use Instacart, I don’t want to start, and I don’t want to see this advertising in the app.

Too many advertisements

Spy 101 on

United States

I used to be a big fan of this app. But now it is overrun with advertisements. Used to be easy to make a grocery list. Now the links go to instacart.

Paywalled

Tlamb2000 on

United States

The whole thing is paywalled. Guess I have to go back to Google to find recipes.

Love to read the recipes

CZB1900 on

United States

It's like owning a favorite book. So fun to page thru the contents. I don't have time to cook much but knowledge from the recipes has helped me to elevate what I serve.

Mostly great app

SupportUkraine2022 on

United States

Great recipes and love the functionality of saving, categorizing. The comments section, though, is buggy. It’s nice to see what others recommend but the app tends to randomly jump from one section of comments to another and/or add/remove large swaths of comments on the more popular recipes. Please fix.

Love my cookbook!

Windycitygalrun on

The NYT Cookbook keeps everything organized. You can find old recipes and up to date recipes. What another great feature is the notes. How others make comments and suggestions after they have cooked the recipe. Love it!

If you have a checkbox for a feature add it to the nav

Suzbinky on

United States

When I downloaded the app I was looking on the NYT Sunday edition for the cooking section from today. Nope Downloaded app. Optional checkbox was 5 recipes for this week. Yay! Opened app and couldn’t find that specific category. I was in the store and didn’t remember the recipe title. All I knew is it had dumplings . If you check a box it must be popular. Add it to the nav.

Recipes are great, but the app needs work

allielovesjet on

United States

I’m a regular user of the app but now every time I open it up, it tells me I’m offline. What’s the point of paying for something I can’t use? About to download my recipes and cancel my subscription before finding another recipe app to use, like Paprika.
