great game BUT...

The cards should be a lot cheaper to level up and i'm currently on 20-8 and I always have to use those flowers even though most of the time I get combo finishes and I level up all of the cards that I use I even have back up cards just in case My memory cards are about level 48 and my other cards are about 60-63 and somehow I'm still struggling even though I get combo finishes and use the flowers I think that's a little absurd

The story is good

I played and even bought the monthly subscription for the first game, but i don’t have the motivation to spend the money for this one. I love the story, but its very slow going because you have to level up your cards before you can finish buying all the nodes to level it up. Also, i will say that i love the music so much but i’m not good at rhythm games so that is also slowing down my progress. I love this series and because they use they/them for the mc, it makes me feel incredibly included and for that i will support them, but i was pretty disappointed in the gameplay. ps, the first game is perfect.

I honestly really love this game; the artwork is beautiful, the storyline is really solid if you’ve already played the first game, and it’s really clear that there’s been a lot of work put into it! However, it’s insanely frustrating that as someone who’s going on two years of playing the original, I’ve worked really hard on building up my strength, upgrading cards, saving DP and AP and the game is really well-built for that! It’s challenging, but not near impossible without spending money. With this game, it’s really hard. You can’t upgrade anything past 70, and even if you could, it takes more grimm than the original game, it’s twice as hard to actually get URs and even if you do, you can’t upgrade them much since it’s 1) crazy hard to get the stuff to upgrade and 2) you can’t even get full stars on some cards since you need jokers to do so but there not even something you can EARN. Not to mention the levels themselves are unreasonably hard. I’ve gone through and checked levels from previous levels, and there’s visible increases in difficulty even in back to back levels. It’s unreasonable. You can’t give people a game where they can barely get strong cards nor could you even upgrade said cards, and then also make levels extremely challenging. I’ve been barely scraping by since this game came out; I only just made it to lesson 27 and I’ve been playing this since it came out. This seriously has great potential, and I really love these games, but honestly some aspects of this game have been mid at best.

Its great!

Its great! Like the title says, the only thing that bothers me is how we get two of the music levels sometimes, WHILE BEING LEFT ON A CLIF HANGER😭

Better mechanics (in my opinion)

One thing that I really enjoy about this is the new ways they’ve included for you to earn DP. I don’t like doing in app purchases in these kinds of games and lesser games would punish you for that. But this one gives you a great mechanic for earning DP (the thing you need to keep playing basically) that isn’t limitless (you still need to work at it) but isn’t frustratingly difficult either. I used to only be able to finish one or two lessons a day with the old one and then have to wait till the next day to earn more DP. Now I can actually make progress consistently! And it gives events new incentive too since those are a great way to get DP.

Slay but alas…..

Difficult as heck(literally) to level up cards :/

Honestly not a huge fan of the tap tap battle part but I stick around for the lore, started playing the first game a week ago and got into this one as well it’s great I’m just not good at rhythm games so it’s a struggle when I can’t skip the battles. Other then that the story is great I’m really enjoying it !

Fun but unnecessary

river_lys on

The original Obey Me game was absolutely amazing, and so is this one, but a second game was completely unnecessary. Especially considering that you cannot keep cards or progress. It’s disappointing to have spent so much time and effort on the original game just to turn around and have to restart. Both with cards and character relationships. Either way, the game is a lot of fun and very reminiscent of the original. Thanks. But also screw off.
