• finger tracing and writing of pseudo-words and real words in isolation
OgStar Reading® Explore takes students on a captivating reading adventure and includes built-in mini-games and rewards to keep students motivated and engaged. OgStar Reading® is a patent-pending, technologically-sophisticated app with handwriting recognition feedback, speech recognition feedback, audio-visual synchronization, voice-over correction feedback, and text-to-speech features.
Data collection is available in the Parent/Teacher Portal describing student performance and progress over time. OgStar Reading Explore Reviews

I regret buying it!

My son was following directions and it kept saying try it again. I thought this would help his reading tutor who uses the Barton method for teaching but it was not a good supplement

When I open the app it just hangs when overlays try and tell me what to fill in or what to interact with.

When I try to tap on lessons it does nothing. I was thinking of purchasing, but now I don’t think I will because it’s not working properly. I can’t access any of the lessons.

I tried to use this app several times. I have searched on my iPad time and time again about ensuring I have an internet connection. I can do everything except run this app....grrr

Add more skip buttons!!!

UtahLady on

Developers : please add more skip buttons!!! My son is dysgraphic and he never writes the words correctly, NEVER. I have to rewrite them again and the voice saying he directions over and over is also super irritating. Nowadays I have him write the words then I erase everything and write the words myself to lose less time: if we could have a skip button it would be less painful for both of us.

So Close

Hyper dinomite on

Just tried the trial, and the app has some great features that make it an almost purchase for my classroom. Unfortunately, the app lets kids skip ahead to new levels without the ability for the teacher to lock it, there is no placement test, if a student makes repeated mistakes it give a skip option, but progresses anyway, and the writing boxes are quite small at times. Sometimes the letter recognition is picky, and others, it accepted backwards letters as correct. I would love to use something like this to supplement my Orton lessons, but this just isn’t good enoug yet.
