Oilfield Essentials contains twenty three pages of frequently used calculations in day to day Drilling and Oilfield operations. From rig calculations such as the Leak Off Test, Kill Mud Weight and Directional Driller's Survey Analysis to Evaluation Calculations that cover Wireline such as Weak Point Selection and Average Hole Size through to Reservoir Evaluation with detailed Oil and Gas Zone Analysis. Beautifully designed and laid out Oilfield Essentials is a pleasure to use with both Imperial and SI units supported. Other functionality includes automatic data saving capacity, Airprint support, Email the results as a pdf, built in checks and limits and a shake to reset function.
The calculations include,
∅ Pipe Tally with Pipe Specs, Capacity, Displacement, Offset and CSV file in email.
∞ Unit Convertor
∉ Directional Driller's Survey Analysis with TVD, DLS, Vertical Section, Northing, Easting, UTM North, UTM East and the option for start point Vertical Section North, East and Azimuth. Attaches CSV file to email.

⊇ Drill Pipe Stuck Point
∜ Pump Output
∜ Pipe Displacement
∏ Kill Mud Weight
∑ Mud Up with Barite
⊗ Quick Look Pay Zone Analysis
∅ Drilling Cost Analysis
∞ Carbide Tracer Hole Size
▼ Equivalent Circulating Density and Annular Pressure Loss

The following units are supported,
• Inches or Millimeters
• Feet or Meters
• Pounds per Gallon or Grams per Cubic Centimeter
• Pounds per Square Inch or Kilopascals
• Barrels or Cubic Meters
• Cubic Meters per minute or Barrels per minute
• Acres or Hectares
• Fahrenheit or Celsius
The Application is fully self contained requiring only minimal input to perform complex calculations. Drill Pipe, Tubing, Casing, Pipe Displacement and Wireline Specifications are preloaded in the application making it easy to specify sizes and weights. The built in checks and limits are to validate user input, prevent typo's and stop erroneous answers from being returned. The checks and error message setup is such that you will not be prevented from working with values outside the built in limits, rather a warning pops up to let you know the values in question are either very high or very low for a given situation. However where the answer makes no sense at all you will be prompted to check the input. You can leave the application, make a phone call, find a restaurant, play a game, whatever it happens to be then come back to the app and any data that you had entered will still be there. At the press of a button you can capture the results of any page and email them from within the application as a .pdf. Once you are done with a page you can shake the iPad or iPhone and the page will reset.

Garbage

Most of the formulas don’t work, kind of disappointed as it would be a handy app for displacements or spotting lcm but like I said, formulas don’t work on my phone.

Please update

Needs to be updated. Not enough casing sizes.

Save your money

Inaccurate and difficult to use. Don't try and contact developer from app, my second wife is more helpful and responsive.

Waste of money

Madrussian4 on

I want my money back. Payed $12 for this app and the displacement calculations aren't even right. Says 5 1/2 23 ppf casing bbls/ft is 0.00820. Way off. C'mon man

Soooo not worth it

Dillon tactical on

It's fun to play with while watching the guys pull pipe or when logging but not allot of things I can use on a day to day basis. My free well control data book and a calculator are WAY more useful

wrong!!

RIGCLIMBER on

the bottoms up calculations are completely WRONG!!!!
