It’s just so convenient everything‘s at the press of a button. I always had to do it on the website before which wasn’t too bad but the app just makes it so much more convenient.

So my Available Balance has over a thousand dollars more than my Current Balance both of which are less than the thousands of dollars deposited which appear to have been added to per-line running total which is crowned by a “pending transaction” (without a running total) that doesn’t jive with either Balance. Great, you’ve farmed out my financial information to 3rd-rate programmers in the backwaters of a foreign country. That makes me feel only slightly more confident in your bank than if this ineptitude was local. Oh, look, a random service fee… 45 minutes on hold later it’s for paper statements. Funny, never charged for that before. Some advanced notice might be nice, but a simple explanation of the fee would have been nicer. And don’t ask for my Social *OR* my Account number, and then you ask for BOTH. It lowers what little confidence I have in your institution. UPDATE: another deposit, immediately added to my running total… followed by Pending Transaction of negative the amount of the deposit. Why not just make the DEPOSIT pending like every other banking app in the world? Have you never seen online banking before? Oh, look, mobile deposit! “Rotate your device to continue your deposit”… okay rotated, spun, flipped, shaked, tossed with a spin into the air. Oh, it’s turn phone vertical then rotate clockwise THEN aim at check… but the rotate device text is written for a COUNTERCLOCKWISE rotation! HOW DO YOU GET THAT BACKWARDS? The phone has a gyroscope it should recognize how I’m holding it no matter the rotation used to get there! Remember the mobile check I DEPOSITED THREE DAYS AGO? I remember it, but you app doesn’t! It’s not Pending. It’s not Posted. It’s not reflected in Current or Available Balance! It was listed when I scanned it. I’ve received 2 receipt e-mails. Why is there no longer any record of the deposit in the app? Let’s try another one (now that we know the secret code for the camera). In… annnnnnnnd it’s gone. Oh, ok, now they both show in balance the next day, but only the new deposit shows in transactions. A week later and my backdated transaction appears. Looks like Chase has a new customer. UPDATE: “available” balance is still higher than “current” balance, the exact opposite of every other bank on the planet.

Does the top things you need but that’s about it

You can check your balances which is good but the notifications are horrible. They are either very delayed or non existent. With Chime mobile banking I don’t have that problem. It’s instant. ONB also needs to get with the times and and virtual card support. There are many perks to having that available to use online for accounts rather than the physical card because it takes 6-10 days to get a replacement unlike resetting a virtual card number instantly.

When it was FNB, I would get a text msg for every single purchase. Now I have to look all day and everyday to see if there were any unauthorized purchases. Just makes it more difficult to keep track nowadays.
