I recently noticed that the “add new task” button has become drag and drop. I can drag a new task into place to create a new task. This is a really cool feature and for me this nudged me from a 4 to 5 star. Thank you for the constant stream of improvements. Icing on the cake would be to show the inbox as a project in the project view, so I have every in one place. Currently can’t do it on the mobile app.
It is way more expensive than its competitors while also not being as polished, intuitive and easy to use. UI seems cluttered and a bit outdated. And to my surprise I could not find any unique feature other apps do not have, except maybe "review" perspective. So I'm curious, why would anyone pay OmniFocus subscription nowadays at all?
Then this app is for you because you can use it so many different ways. Do you want to think in “available to do now” tasks or “due” tasks? Do you want to see one project’s tasks or one day’s? Do you want “repeat” to mean every Tuesday or every seven days after the last time it finished? You can use this app so many different ways that if you have the kind of brain that needs to overhaul your to do system every quarter, you can do it without switching apps.
This app is worth the price if you take it seriously and use it. Helps you get stuff done. There’s too much to remember these days. Very nice app
Recently I realized that I had so many to do abs going that I will have become completely disoriented. I decided to pair everything down and returned to OmniFocus which I purchased quite sometime ago. At the time that I purchased it I hoped that it would be useful for my business and my day-to-day life. On the other hand I was always looking for something else. All I can say is that I have returned to OmniFocus, use it diligently, and find that my day runs much more smoothly. I really really appreciate this app!!
Long time user, OF is my personal secretary, and a very reliable one!
Omnifocus has finally clicked for me now that they added tags. I love the ability to filter tasks by specific contexts. See all the tasks you can do on you phone? Sure Only ones on computer, due soon? Why not Only tasks marked “active” or in certain projects? Yup Any view you can dream up, you can do. So it’s easy to see only what you can work on now. Further, omnifocus has really great apps across all devices: apple watch, ipad, mac. I love seeing tasks on my watch face. Finally, I love the haptic feedback when I complete a task. So satisfying.
Before OmniFocus, and after! Basically, I am a lot more productive now. I mostly use the Mac app, but I like having access on my phone as well.
Definitely sick of the constant forced upgrades (my devices no longer synch so it is forced). I think I’ve paid for this app two or three times, but no fourth for sure. Despite all the upgrades it doesn’t do a whole lot more for me than the original. Just enough change to try to justify having existing customers pay again, and again, and again. I’m in the market for simple new GTD software.
