Onkyo HF Player - Hi-Res Music

I don’t know if it’s placebo but all my music sounds better played in this app even standard files without EQ.

I bought this app few years ago, I enjoyed it. However ,it started asking me for pay for free ads. Is that normal?

I’ve already payed for the full version of this app. Now after an update I’m expected to pay for it again? Don’t think so. And no I don’t want Google having ANY of my info to sell for their profit. Delete.

Ok from the off I love this app… or I did. I originally download it about 5 years ago. Mainly because I had some onkyo e700 earphones and wanted to improve my listening experience. The default music app for Apple is poor. The EQ is hidden and limited. You cannot beat an equaliser as music is subjective and sounds different to every pair of ears. Preset eq is poor to say the least. Anyway, I paid £7.99 all those years ago to unlock the lossless and graphic equaliser features. Money well spent. Now 02.08.22 I open the app as normal and I am greeted with a request to have: a) un tailored adds b) tailored adds C)UNLOCK ADS FOR £8.99!!!!!! Well excuse me… I’ve already paid for this app so why should I pay again??? Absolutely ruined it for me. UPDATE**** it is due to an update to the app that this popped up. Go into setting and restore purchases and boom… back to ad free interface 😀

Clear and straightforward interface. Worth the in-app purchase upgrade to allow playback of high definition files. Works flawlessly with iTunes to copy the high res files to your iPhone. I use the Onkyo in combination with an iPhone, an Oppo HA-2 and a pair of quality headphones and the results are truly outstanding. Have tried another well known high res app but for the best user experience this app is definitely my one of choice. Does its job well. UPDATE - still using after a few years now and can still fully recommend. Works beautifully with an Oppo HA-2SE and also the THX Onyx. Contrary to another reviewer, customer support IS available - they sorted out a small problem for me quickly and efficiently.

There’s no landscape EQ view anymore that’s a big minus for me as I make precise changes to the EQ and now it’s impossible. Otherwise I’m very happy with it.

Please continue support for this app. I was happy with it, but now it has several bugs on my old iPhone. And my new iPhone. I purchased it for the equaliser. And years ago I purchased a different equaliser app. Which has since disappeared (which is why I bought this one) Please do not disappear from App Store like the last music app from other developer!!!!!!, this app was £9.99. Quite a premium. So please continue support and fix the bugs. Thank you

I buyed the player long time ago only now have proper DAC and tried how amazing is really I received HiliDAC Audirect Beam 2s and found can do real convert to DSD 128 with my IPhone SE 2020 and sound is flawlessly nice on my Sony MDR-1AM2 in 4.4 balanced output from HiliDAC Thank you Onkyo for make this player best in App Store I don’t write reviews only for something what really like and love much Appreciate the work on developers much 😍 🔊🎶

Love this app. I have an OnkyoNetwork streamer and a remote app so am used to the Onkyo environment. Have put the music app on my new 256g iPod Touch with the Hi Res paid upgrade and have successfully transferred all my FLAC and Hi Res albums to the Hi Res Library. However, the library will only show albums or songs. It will not show Artists to select a certain artist. Selecting Artist just goes to a blank page. This feature works just fine in the iPod library, but not in the Hi Res library. I can’t find out how to contact the developer so hoping they read these reviews and will respond with help??? Would be 5 stars if I could just get it to sort by artist as I have over 600 albums to sort.
