I’ve been using Open Snow for 2 years now. What an awesome app. While it’s features continue to expand throughout, it’s accuracy to plan for the best powder days is unmatched! While the app is easy to navigate, if you ever do need to contact Open Snow, I found their service and ability to handle any issues to be first rate. Henry
OpenSnow has become my go to app for weather year round. I find their point forecasts better than Weather.gov or any others I’ve tried for accuracy and depth of info provided. And their 48 hr hi-res smoke forecasts are super valuable for me as I’m in a region with lots of wildfires and smoke every year. I’m a backcountry skier so their snow reporting and forecasts are great too but don’t think for a moment that the app’s value is limited to snow and skiing. The interface is intuitive, with broad and deep coverage of the content and lots of user configurability. They’re not perfect of course, there are minor issues like refresh and modeling issues for higher elevation point locations but they’re constantly bringing out new features and fixing bugs and I’ve found their staff to be super responsive to my inquiries. Not encouraging them to raise prices but their current $30/year All Access membership is insanely low cost for the value they deliver!
Simply the most accurate forecasters on the planet!
We check this website daily and more.It not only keeps up to date but allows us to make educated guesses for future plans. Plus we appreciate the “education “ re weather that we are receiving. Thanks for all the diligent work.
Great app. Impressive new features. Well designed.
Used to be great. No longer. Their combo with open summit is bad and impossible to navigate
I live in Kansas but spend a lot of time in Colorado during the winter time. Now using OpenSnow for my weather back here.
This is truly the best weather app. I live in Steamboat Springs and am outside a lot. I need to know what to expect hour to hour and day to day so I can get on with my activities. This app tells me everything I need to know. I use it as much in the summer months as in winter. Lots of data at your finger tips like when it’s going to rain or snow, cloud cover, lightning, hourly temps, wind speed. Plus you can toggle from winter to summer mode. There are also some helpful overlay maps for smoke, wildfires and snowfall (powder days!). They have news and weekly weather predictions and all sorts of other deep dive weather stuff if you want to geek out. They EXPLAIN the weather. Love that the developers really are passionate about weather accuracy. I also like to keep tabs on other ski areas, towns where my family live and places I’m heading on vacation so I line up my favorites accordingly. It’s astonishing the amount of info in one place. One of my favorite apps. Not one single complaint. Kudos to the Open Snow team!
The OpenSnow app has anything you could need a skier, hiker, biker, runner, etc. Really appreciate all the features they crank out including the new lightning predicter.
