Optiwatt: Tesla & EV Charging

App seemed to be working well earlier this year but lately I’m not sure. What’s the point of having the ability to schedule a trip if the app won’t allow the car to charge? I don’t want to leave for a trip with low battery and this happens ALL the time now. I understand grid support events but I also need to have a decently charged vehicle at some point.

Completely removes any way of controlling your charging and over charges your battery, or doesn’t charge it. I had to fully reset my Ford Mach e and change my password. It is almost like it infected my cars operating system. Word of advice, if you want to charge your car, use the app made for it and follow recommended best practices and times.

Please add temperature option for Celcius. Thank you

Doesn’t do much more than Tesla app, and you have to give your login info.

Tesla confirmed and requested not used that application.

OptiWatt sent bad info to my Tesla, only allowing the car to be charged to 50%. It started after OptiWatt was installed but I did not realize that OptiWatt was the cause of the problem. Had to wait 10 days for an appointment with Tesla. They ran every diagnostic to try to figure out why. Eventually when OptWatt was removed, issue was resolved. Did OptiWatt wanna pay Tesla for the 6hrs spent on this? The app shouldn’t even be in Beta, it has issues.

Looks like bugs have been squashed. Send to be working well. I would like to see multiple departure times as an option though

Cannot change the name of my thermostat. Only accepts one name for both.

This was reported direct 6 months ago, but their CO2 graph is still totally wrong for California. Compared to the official Grid’s graphs at CaISO.org, Optiwatt’s CO2 graph never shows strong dips in the middle of the day, when sometimes there is so much Renewable power it is curtailed!! Totally needs fixing to work as advertised!!

I’ve been using the app for a few years now and it works great for scheduling my charging during the cheapest times from my utility. Support from the developers has also been great.
