Oriental Strings is a professional sound module app for oriental keyboard players and for musicians who simply want to resemble the typical sound of the Orient and Middle East in their songs. Connect an external MIDI keyboard to your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch by using Bluetooth MIDI or by using the Apple USB camera adapter or another adapter supported by Apple, or launch Oriental Strings as virtual instrument directly within your favourite DAW app on your iOS device!¹

This app supports "Audio Unit", "Audiobus" and Apple's "Inter-App Audio" System for audio & MIDI connections from/to other audio apps, as well as Bluetooth LE MIDI !
The sounds of Oriental Strings were exclusively recorded with players who are professionally dedicated to oriental style of music. Typical string instrument sounds for the Arabian genre are covered by this app. Besides rather exotic instruments like the Chinese erhu, typical western string instruments were used as well, but since the players of the recording sessions are focused on oriental music, those western instruments sound completely different than you might be used to from western orchestra players.
The sounds of this app were once again created by Kurt Ader, winner of the NAMM 2015 "Best Sound Designer of the Year" award.

Oriental Strings FAQ
Is Oriental Strings free?
Yes, Oriental Strings is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Oriental Strings legit?
🤔 The Oriental Strings app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
This mediocre app is just one of two in the iSymphonic series. They sound exactly the same as the other. I would have to say this one is sort of worth the price [$7] unlike iSymphonic Orchestra, which is an IAP scheme [$10+ dozens if not hundreds of dollars to get the sounds]. At least with this, what you see is what you get. Even then, the AUv3 sometimes has trouble with loading, and during export. I read the same thing about iSymphonic and I will repeat what was told to me: I ditched iSymphonic for a REAL Symphponic/orchestral AUv3 by GSi called Mini Orchestra, and I am thinking of deleting both Crudebyte apps to save space.
Isn’t Tanpura a strung instrument
Please add Tanpura. Make this app even more special just by adding this one instrument.
great app
its sooooooo great app really , we waiting for new sound packs ,
with classical turkish " kemençe " and arabian " Rababa " , its both a strings , thnx ♥️♥️♥️
The strings sounds don’t sound like real instruments. It’s not even close.
I’m sorry guys but these strings don’t sound even close to the real thing. Please try to get some decent sounding string in there. Otherwise this is great. I feel kind of cheated. The garage band strings sound way better than these ones that I just bought.
Quality. Amazing.
This little library is bomb. It works great on its own. If you’re using iSymphonic. The attack’s from this library can take the legato patches in iSymphonic and give you a whole new set of patches for iSymphonic. Think of this as another expansion for iSymphonic and you’ll be glad you did. And it completes the thing I feel is missing in iSymphonic: edgier attacks for some of the patches. Found em. And on its own. This library is KILLER. amazing quality. Accurate as heck to the genre it’s nAiling.
Sound probs
Several of the instruments are the exact same sample. Exactly the same. I believe there is a bug switching the sounds in the app perhaps?
Fantastic App!
It's not just limited to exotic tonalities. It is also great for solid "English strings" (George Martin, Glyn Johns, Paul Buckmaster, etc...)
Incredibly versatile and worth every penny.

Great app - Great support
I bought this app when it first came out, and I've used it on many tunes. The sounds are very rich and exotic, and they add drama and excitement to any production.
Recently, I had occasion to contact them because of an issue in a song I was arranging.
It was nearly 5:00 in the afternoon EST and I thought I'd probably hear from them after the weekend. 15 minutes later I received a reply that led to me solving the problem. The problem that I had created.
I consider that to be exemplary customer service!
An absolutely 5 star company.
Love it
This and the other iSymphonic offerings are definite tools that should be in every sound designers tool box. If real natural sounding orchestral strings is your thing, then buy this app.
Wish I hadn't bought this
I'm used to high quality string instruments from embertone on my pc so this was a disappointment. I played with this for about 15 minutes and then deleted it. Too cheesy for me.
