Description
OSCaR was developed by Children in Families, a Cambodian NGO, with technical support from Save the Children International, and funding from USAID.
Children in Families is an NGO specializing in family-based care of children in Cambodia, with an emphasis on regular, ongoing case management of the kids we’re responsible for. OSCaR sits within our programming, both informed by, and informing, our day-to-day practice.
IN DEVELOPING OSCAR, WE HAD THREE GOALS:
1. To provide a toolset that would strengthen our case-management practice so that we could achieve better outcomes for our clients.
2. To better monitor those outcomes, so that our programming decisions and reporting would both be to a higher standard.
3. To do both those things in English, and in the mother-language of our staff.
Designed firstly by social workers, but with strong input from those who understand data management and analysis, OSCaR provides a complete and customizable suite of tools for organizations delivering social-work related programs
OSCAR’S TOOLSET ALLOWS YOU TO:
1. Support and guide strong case management practice by your staff, with assessment, care-planning and follow-up all integrated in a central tool-set.
2. Accurately model your organization's programs, using customizable form sets and conditions for program enrollment.
3. Build, save, reproduce and export customized reports for all the data collected within the system, across your whole client body.
4. Use the system in one of x languages, or quickly add your own, community translation if your language isn’t already represented.
OSCaR is now used by over a dozen NGOs across Cambodia, and more internationally, and is in the process of being integrated into the Cambodian Royal Government’s own processes for maintaining the wellbeing of vulnerable Cambodian children.
