"I use this for analog, and audio measurements. Attach an Apple USB adapter and a $40 stereo A-D converter available online, and my iPad is like a $300 O'Scope." -thymeout-
Oscilloscope app is great for analyzing audio range signals, or learning oscilloscope measurement basics. The interface includes many standard oscilloscope controls, such as: triggering, time and voltage per division, signal measurement cursors, and more.
The app incorporates a signal (function) generator capable of generating sine, square, triangle, and sawtooth waveforms of up to 22 KHz. Calibration to an external reference signal is supported, guaranteeing the accuracy of measurements.
Input can be acquired via the built-in microphone or an external mic/probe connected to the headset connector. For best results, use an external audio interface connected to your device dock. This allows for standard audio equipment to be connected, as well as for dual channel input. Oscilloscope probes also be connected (using a BNC connector). When feeding external signals via probes, you should take care not to exceed 1V AC voltage. Currently iDevices support only AC input.

Oscilloscope FAQ
Is Oscilloscope free?
Oscilloscope is not free (it costs 19.99), however it doesn't contain in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Oscilloscope legit?
🤔 The Oscilloscope app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
I have been searching for some time for an App that would enable to view circuit waveforms because in my location and situation purchasing a DSO is a very expensive option.
This App has become an essential part of developing a circuit design.
The only limitation is the frequency range but for my design work that isn’t an issue.
An improvement that I would appreciate is the ability to expand the timebase to less than 500mS - say to 50ms. This would help to examine waveforms in greater detail.
Building my own interface was not an issue, but for beginners it might prove to be a challenge.
I am very happy to recommend this App to other Electronic Engineers.
Oscilloscope
I use this great app with iPad mini and a home made input to the microphone socket, using a standard probe, a 1M pot and back to back diodes to protect the iPad. Really useful, I love the single trigger mode.
useful piece of gear
Use it a lot in my work as an audio tech, not wishing to sound
ungrateful, but a dB scale would be useful
No one that I know has ever designed a dB Voltmeter, why
I don't know, there are plenty of dB meters for environment
measurements SPL etc.
Kind Regards

Great ! Thanks for x-y input
Was good,,,now its great !
Thanks
Please add frequency counter.
I love this app !
Good app but...
Can't seem to get it to work with a non audio input signal and there is nothing in the help to illuminate this. Plugging a test lead in using a stereo 3.5 mm jack doesn't disable the apps response to audio signals meaning that an input signal can't be measured without background noise intrusion. Not sure whether this is a limitation of the phone or the app however.
Nice !
A little more on the help screen would be useful - but the function provided means I don't have to lug a scope around
Screen Hog 🖥🐽
Needs split view mode to analyze internal apps without having to switch screens
Pls one of the devs respond!
Hi, I love this app, but I was thinking there would be audio for the input mode )): Is there a way to turn on audio?? Or is it just waves. Please help! I really bought this for the purpose of trying to learn how to make music videos with it, and it’s well.. I cant make music videos without music. So pls help! Thanks!
Please update for recent iOS
App works great, and developers respond to reviews. Thank you.
Super Sensitive-the way it should be
very useable audio scope. One thing they definitely need to do is add a snapshot or screen capture utility. Right now, all you can do is look at the signal. Also some kind of export to raw feature would be usable to tech’s. Thanks
