Outread Reviews

Nice app, small suggestion

Hawkty on

Australia

I like this app it’s neat. I have two suggestions, firstly, I think it would be useful to be able to sort your library by the date the books were published. I understand that would likely be a great deal of effort but I think it would help people to better understand the order that certain series should be read in. You could alternatively sort books from the same series into groups which I believe would help people understand which order they should be read in. Just a suggestion though and I understand it would be difficult to implement. Secondly, I think an option to have the chunking setting keep going until it hits a comma or period would be useful. Other than that, great app!

Good app but word flashing needs a tweak

Fred11111x on

I like the app but the truncation of long words and the boing of many small words makes reading fast more difficult. Consider integrating a spritz style view!

Brilliant but a few things

Hyattma on

Australia

Firstly, it is a brilliant app! Massively helpful when I have to read reports or keeping up with my magazine subscriptions and books on the go. But! The import of documents, pdf and other things can be massively clunky. Missing pieces of writing or not coping across a website without so many extra steps. The layout could be nicer as well, maybe a bookshelf that has the covers for the books would be so nice to look at

Solid app

bnwd on

Australia

I’ve tried the other speed reading apps and Outread is the best by far. It’s clearly a well put together app, works reliably, no bugs that I’ve found, great UI. There are some UI improvements that I’d like to see and I’m confident that Arek is gonna keep iterating on the app and pushing updates.

Allow to scroll in the highlighting mode

npetet1 on

Australia

Love the app. Couple of suggestions: 1. I think it will be great if you allow to scroll while reading in highlight mode. Currently when it reaches the end of the screen it scrolls all the way to the top automatically. When you are reading at a higher speed it is very difficult shift your eyes up really quick. I think it will be solved if you allow manual scrolling so that users can adjust the scroll position that is best suited for them. 2. Highlight style - it Will be great if we can customise the highlighted text color and background.

Great App

Very intuitive and flexible

Worth it

Cmgi on

Great app that will help get through the massive back log of articles on Pocket. You can also sort oldest to newest and clear out the oldest articles which not very many other apps do. Worth it if you want to get faster and catch up with your reading list.

Most natural speed reader

SirShanksalot on

Australia

Of all the speed readers I've considered lately, Outread's approach is the most natural (reading the text as normally portrayed rather than 1 word at a time, not convinced of that approach). Added advantage is I find it training me to read faster outside of Outread as well. Would love Pinboard integration as well!

Rock Solid

My preferred app for reading anything online. Paid features are worth the spend. I’ve read full e-books with the tool and will be exploring the built-in library soon.

Don’t believe them about the pdfs

buttercakeeater on

Tired to import a pdf and it doesn’t work, just freezes on the loading page forever
