No podpoint

I notice that the app doesn’t show PodPoint chargers even as non-ovo? I mainly use ESB and PodPoint in Birmingham. Please advise, thank you.

Ongoing issue glitch

Kamel black cab on

United Kingdom

Disappointed with OVO App’s Ongoing Issues I’ve been using the OVO app for a while now, but the experience has been nothing short of frustrating. Every time I try to charge using the app, it crashes. This issue has been ongoing for quite some time, yet there seems to be no resolution in sight. Despite this, I’m still being charged £8 a month for a subscription I can’t even use properly. To make matters worse, I was told by another user that it’s best to order the physical card because this glitch has been a long-standing problem that hasn’t been addressed. Why are customers being charged for a service that doesn’t work? OVO, please fix this glitch as soon as possible and stop charging us for an app we can’t use. Loyal customers deserve better than this.

Can’t rely on it

Dr David James on

United Kingdom

Works only if you set an early finish time such as 7am. If I set later, say 10am on a Sunday it misses the deadline and doesn’t fully charge in time.

Very very expensive app

Ms James on

United Kingdom

I downloaded this app to activate a Ubricity/Shell Recharge EV point as the barcode had been removed. This app charges 95p per kWh when the price from shell varies (dependent on time) between 45p and 54p. I would avoid using this for anything but locating chargers.

Don’t pay for navigation! It doesn’t work

Thecraig1982 on

United Kingdom

Overall, the app and the chargers are cheaper than using without and the £2 membership is worth having. I went for the £8 membership as I wanted the navigation element in one app with the charger control and payment. However after paying and trying the navigation doesn’t work. It just gets stuck on a loading screen with a grey map and doesn’t do anything! Very frustrating as I actually paid for this specifically!

Makes excessive onstreet charging palatable

Dr Coops on

United Kingdom

In Brighton where onstreet charging is the norm and Blink have a state-sponsored monopoly(!) at £0.53p/kWh this app with the membership makes it a bit more palatable cost wise. Easy to use and with rewards it helps reduce charging costs for those without driveways. Main issue is the “Stop charging” Button on the homescreen window which has already caused me to accidentally stop a charge. This needs changing to add at least an “are you sure?” Stage to avoid this

Doesn’t work

Rivol133 on

United Kingdom

This app is weak, most chargers doesn’t work, poor map with available chargers. Cannot even connect with a charger when other apps such as ZapMap work perfectly. Wasted fortunately £2

Where have the 30p Franklin chargers gone

Ellis Disease on

United Kingdom

I got this app as it was good to use with a local charging network that was 30p on the App (26p with Turbo) they’re no longer available and are now on LiFe for 65p, they’ve gone from almost the electricity price cap to over double and on par with liquid fuel cost per mile. Until this happened I was considering getting a compatible charger and switching to OVO having met them at Everything Electric North for better solar export and the charge anytime but this feels like a Bait’n’Switch so I’ve dropped to the £2 tier and won’t be renewing once my credit is spent as I’ve lost trust with OVO as a result. Charging a car should never cost more than running on liquid fuel, I’m using Fastned now as they offer 48p which is 12-16p/mile, on par with liquid fuels.

Have been using bonnet ( Ovo ) in 2024 to save on public charging , and although I had a lot of trouble at first I’ve found it very useful for finding DC chargers less than 50p/kwh The customer service back up has been particularly good & id like to thank Karolina in particular for all her help Pad.A
