App suddenly not working after 3 months

Helpless332 on

Bought and paid for this app back in Nov 2022 and Feb 2023 it suddenly showed “ total failure” asking me to download updated version . When I tried to do the downloading, it asked me to pay again for the app as if I am an new user! I will not pay for it again as history will repeat itself. I tried to contact the app developer but failed! Such a waste as it is indeed a good designed app but after sales service is SUCK when issue arises. I will definitely avoid all app developed by this developer !

Apparently Incompatible on iPad Pro

Rowsab on

Having been charged $38.00 to download the App it consistently fails to open on iPad Pro. No explanation has been forthcoming. Consider alternative App before purchasing.

Latest update has repeated nag screens to login

BlindUpdateSnafus on

Dec 26,2022 - This is not what i paid for. Jan 17, 2023 - The app has been giving me non-stop notifications when it’s not even open on my phone, telling that I need to download a new version. There have been at least 15 in the last few minutes. The app itself has a message that says ‘Total failure’. It is unusable as is, before download. I have screenshots. I am never buyinng from this app developer again, and I suggest anyone looking at buying this app look for other versions of the OED on the app store.

Continually crashes

Sfezz on

I purchased this app as my previous Oxford dictionary was no longer supported. When I try to look up words, this app either gives a ‘Total failure’ message or flicks me over to the App Store to get a free app with in-app purchases- which I should have already paid for with this App. This is a very poor product from UniDict.

What’s going on?

terostrike on

Being using this app for quite a while, all of a sudden it says total failure when I open app and auto directs me to download a new version at the in app version. So I download that and it says I have no licence? Go to my purchased apps and I can’t put in a problem cause it also says it’s never purchased. Ridiculous. Not paying another $38 dollars for the same app. Please fix I’m getting annoyed. Great dictionary even though it’s the same thing that’s built into the iPhone. But man why is there two versions confusing matters and why can’t I re-download what I purchased or update that version rather than it sending me to the other version?

Suddenly stopped working

DavidSMunro on

I’ve been using this dictionary for a few years but today it completely stopped working. When I start up the app - it comes up with a message “Total Failure” and directs me to the App Store. I’ve deleted it and reloaded it but no progress. This was a very expensive app that I use every day - it’s very disappointing to have it now continually fail. I’m using on an iPad 7th generation on iOS 16.2 Please help.

Oxford Deluxe

Having the thesaurus alongside The Oxford English Dictionary is a major help when looking for the same word without wanting to repeat oneself. The app is fast and user friendly. I remember at Uni my English professor carried the hard copy to class in a basket with other various things: he told me he didn’t mind the weight. The next day he had this app instead. It turned out he did mind the weight. If you buy it, it’ll be amongst the best money you’ve ever spent. David

A fantastic resource

JCM6976 on

A well laid out app. The only Dictionary you will ever need.

Almost perfect

shnorb on

A fantastic dictionary that is perfect excepting a few details, the first of which I think is relatively important, especially considering the price of the app. - I want full freedom to copy to the clipboard, at the moment text selection and copying seems, limited and sometimes impossible. I would greatly appreciate attention being paid to this. - This detail is aesthetic, but also functional. The D and T buttons in the top right hand corner, even after using this dictionary for quite some time, still intuitively confuses me. Pressing a blue D button to get to the red thesaurus doesn't work for me in a reactive way when I'm using it. I think it would be fantastic to swap the buttons around; to have a red T button whilst in the dictionary and a blue D button whilst in thesaurus. With these additions this app is worthy of a five star review! Keep up the good work :)
