PCAM Pro - Film Reviews

You are missing out on an amazing app!

peterkeenan on

If you have not checked out this awesome app, you are missing an opportunity to solve problems that come up for production. I know this app is unique to the camera dept but I assure you that Production Designers, Producers, Chief Lighting Technicians, Key Grips, Storyboard Artists and anyone involved with pre-viz, can gain very useful info from their “what ifs”. pCam is an essential tool in my e-kit. It has saved me thousands of dollars due to its wealth of data. It enables me to see the future. You must see for yourself.

Excellent app

joshi527 on

Have owned PCam since the start of my focus pulling career. This app has helped me figure out complicated shots to just last night doing car plate shots with 9 cameras on a array, quickly figured out the hyperfocal distance for all. No need to have a camera implement if you know how to actually use the app. Has helped me countless of time in my Local 600 career. Thanks!

The app should access camera

General Samus on

United States

Great app, BUT it should access camera on iPhone to give the exact POV of the shot, rather than using cartoon cutouts which do not simulate your actual actors. Can’t say it can’t be done, cause the app “Cadrage” does it and it is rated very high in the App Store. When using your camera, it superimposes the frame (depending on the lens you select) over your camera’s frame.

A Service To The Industry

This piece of programming is a major service to the industry. It’s clearly driven by love because it’s certainly not driven by money. Thank you, David! Bill Dill, ASC

Great App with one huge thing missing

General Samus on

United States

Love the app. So many tools to make sure your production looks & feels great. The only thing that would make the app better from my experience with the app, is when previewing your shot in “Field of View”, the app should access your phone’s camera where the user can see exactly what their shot will look like depending on the camera and lens being used, rather than cartoon cut-outs that include dimensions (because people are different sizes and shapes). That feature would make this app perfect.

The electronic resource.

I’ve been using pCAM since it was on palm pilot. It is THE cinematography resource, and the standard for which all other similar apps must be judged.

Essential part of my kit

Beernun on

United States

As a VFX Supervisor and Artist, this app is a necessary part of my kit. I use it for sensor size comparisons, FOV dimensions, and a myriad of other camera and lighting items that are important for the VFX team. If you’re in the industry, you need this app.
