Peflog FAQ
Is Peflog free?
Peflog is not free (it costs 1.99), however it doesn't contain in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Peflog legit?
🤔 The Peflog app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
This is an amazing app I have used since 2019 post hospital admission for asthma. It has enabled me to monitor and learn about my illness and see trends of deterioration and improvement due to extrinsic factors such as weather etc. It is great to share with Health Care Professionals who only see a snapshot of our PEFs & can thus see our true best & worse PEFS during good health and asthma management & bad health too.
The new design is frustrating!
I look at my chart mostly twice daily and it is always a faff to get to the latest recordings. This new design is not an improvement, it is an inconvenience!! It needs to be thought through again the sooner the better.
Change is difficult
I’ve been using this really useful app for years - but I really do not like the new look. At least the measurement recorder has returned to numbers rather than that horrible sliding scale, but I find the new graph layout cluttered and difficult to read (and I use charts all day long). I miss the clarity of the old charts. Still good for tracking peak flow but a star dropped for the decline in clarity
Very useful app but why fix what isn't broken?
Useful to be able to monitor my PEF without having to carry around paper diary, but the new layout is difficult to use. Much preferred the time buttons eg 1 week / 1 month / all time, and it took me ages to work out that to log a PEF measurement, I have to tap on the inhaler button… used to be a 5* app but not anymore :(
No medication list
The app is very good for recording PEF but has no input for FEV1. At the moment I record this information in the comments. Also it has nothing to say what medication you are using and when you are using it. After having paid for the app I would like to have this information recorded.
Data lost after recording for 3/4 mths
I used this to record my peak flow over the last few months. I have had a few weeks of better function so was not recording so regularly. I have come onto the app today to add a reading snd ky data has all gone - I have a review appointment in 2 weeks and bnodata to share - very disappointed.
PEF
A really useful app that has helped me to monitor my asthma with ease. I have had asthma for years but this has allowed me to see patterns and adjust my good/poor peak flow to what fits specifically to me. A clear and easy to use app - Thank you.
My only issue is that the log always returns to the oldest record so now that I have been using this app for a while I have to scroll from the oldest log down through a lot of entries to get to my recent logs. Is there a way to change the log to recent entries first as this would be far more useful.
Was goof
Is good
The error was all mine and the app developer sorted me out in no time. Very happy with it now.
Was proving very useful but stopped saving readings after 5 days. Would love to have it back working.
Excellent
This app is well worth the cost and makes recording my peak flow results super easy. I think the NHS should seriously consider investing in bringing this app to more people as it makes a huge difference, especially to people who struggle to keep and understand paper records. This app can benefit a lot of people. I wouldn’t be without it now as it saves so much time.
Five Stars
This app is superb and the communication from the Developer is OUTSTANDING. A****
My son is an unstable severe asthmatic and this app is outstanding. It provides a detailed overview of his asthma over a period of time. I am able to track his condition, identify subtle downward trends of his clinical condition in order to action care plans sooner. It even has built in timers to prompt a post PEF following the administration of medication which is an incredibly thoughtful tool if needed!
There is a section to add comments where I can personalise what triggered the exacerbation, I can write what medication I have administered (although they have already pre-listed many for convenience!), I can add the date, the time & chart it.
I have personalised the chart for my son with his height, weight, best PEF, DOB, name etc. which I feel is very valuable information, as there is a small button that I can click & within 2 seconds (I timed it!), it will generate a report that can be emailed/text/sent in many ways with the entire details (or the selected details you want such as a week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks etc.) & all of the information, including the graph, will be forwarded.
I am able to send this info to my son’s Consultant. Previously I have been using my own paper version of this chart & it has been very inconvenient to carry around, however as I always have my phone with me, this is amazing!!
There are many more outstanding, thoughtful & informative features to this app that I have not covered in this review, however, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
There are a few details I have spoken to the Developer about regarding this app, and the reply was professional, polite, compassionate and incredibly supportive. If you are asthmatic or a parent of an asthmatic child, I highly recommend this app, it is worth every penny.
