Perceptron - An Idle Game

Neural Network Idle Sim

Published by: Andrew Zuo

Description

Perceptron is a new incremental game which is based around the idea of building and training a neural network. The concepts behind a neural network have been distilled to their essence in this idle simulation.
Not to say the game is simple. Sure, it starts simple with only nodes, training, and data, but soon balloons into a complex idle game with prestige and upgrades. Not to mention offline support.
Take on the role of a young undergraduate student as you become quite the idle tycoon.
Perceptron is not just another idle clicker. It was designed around the idea of training a neural network and has taken inspiration from many neural network topics. Who knows, you might even end up learning something.

Perceptron Reviews

Soothing

I never review games but I quite like this game. It’s slow progression and one of those games where you come back every now and then to check up on it. But there’s no imposed ads and it’s pleasant to watch your little neural net grow.

Great game for playing in short bursts

Love this game! First idle game I’ve played for longer than 2 weeks (I usually get bored and delete them). Keep in mind that it is a slow game, but you can make progress with little actual playtime. If you like sitting down and playing for an hour at a time, this probably isn’t the game for you, but if you like short bursts of progress a couple times a day; you’ll love it!

Exponential Idle has been ripped off clean and simple, simply play both games for a second to see for yourself.

play this game if you enjoy watching paint dry

By far the worst game i’ve ever played, have reset a 3-4 times within 2 weeks. Don’t download if you plan on actually being able to play the game

Way too slow

Almost two days in and I have only reset once. That’s how slow the game is. This is an Idle game… no kidding.

Love the game! But the overclock menu is broken

The gear icon does not appear.

Not fast enough

Linear increase in production and exponential increase in upgrade costs, these two factors make the game slow down over time and effectively grind to a halt.

So so slow

Honestly feels insanely slow. Like play for 8 seconds then reset with no additive gain.

On the Training Data tab I can’t tap any of the actions :(

Kinda fun

I enjoyed it for a while, spent like 2 month playing. It just gets to a point where it realllyyy drags. Idk at some point it’s not fun to wait an entire day with overclock, watch an ad to double what I earned, then use that rep to get one thing and make effectively no progress. Can’t justify playing it anymore and glad I didn’t spend money. Maybe if you could sell some of the nodes back for slightly less then you payed for them it would move the right amount faster. Otherwise it’s just grinding ads to keep the boost on and days of waiting. Really appreciate that the ads are “optional” though! Don’t think it’s feasible to play without the overclock but it’s nice to have the illusion of freedom of choice.
