Photo Censor Reviews

I rarely write reviews unless I’m unhappy. This is an exception.

Lexboy97 on

Like I said, I normally only write reviews to let others know if I have had a bad experience with an app but when I did my last app update I noticed this app didn’t have many reviews and the ones it had were just blah. And that is a shame This is an awesome app that I actually use in a regular basis. Not so much for blurring our faces and what not but rather blurring put things such as document account numbers and other similar types of personal information for any documentation photo I may need to send (or want to publicly post) but want to protect some parts (like my home address, etc.) This app is very easy to use and pretty straightforward. No bells and whistles, you can black out, pixelization, or blur whatever part of the photo you want. You can do multiple portions of the same photo and in some cases, like if you use the blur function (which I prefer) it is necessary to put multiple layers of blur over the same item to ensure total coverage. Now this last part is just free unsolicited advice. If you’re digitally conscious enough to understand the need to protect things with an app like this then you should follow through and do things properly. Once you’ve censored your photograph this app will allow you to save the censored photo while leaving the original photo in tact back in your phones photo album. IT WOULD BEHOVE YOU to take two more steps to provide you the privacy you’re wanting. ❶ After you have the photo censored and you like it, don’t just send it or post it, that photo still has metadata contained in it which could possibly be connected to you. Instead, take a SCREENSHOT of the photo on your phone (therefore creating a new photo, which is a photo of a photo of a photo…) ❷ Use an application such as “Medaphoto” or “ExifViewer” (those are the ones that I personally use) to allow you to save a copy of the photo without the Photos metadata, essentially removing your digital fingerprints. ③ And this is just if you are really concerned (which you probably are) most smartphones, including modern iPhones, will allow you to manipulate a photos metadata (change the date and place the photo says it was taken). An application like the ones I mentioned above will allow you to change every single part of a photos metadata right down to the camera pixel quality for the camera which took the photo. I know it’s a long review and if you made it this far hopefully I was able to give you a little new knowledge and tools to add to your belt. Stay a

I have been using this app for quite some time. I did find in the beginning it took a bit of a learning curve. Works well for what I need it for. My biggest selling point to purchase premium was because the developer does not collect any data, or says so anyway. I think everyone would appreciate a refreshing update.

Should Charge Upfront

Dharmamama on

United States

To save or share the edited photo, you are required to pay. Screenshotting is free. It would be more honest to just charge for the app upfront, as saving and sharing are basic functions. The app did not ask permission to access photos. It works fine, but only 2 stars due to those issues.

This app does not work properly. The developer is an young Israeli man that I recently contacted. I had back and forth emails with him telling him what was not working on his app. He thanked me and said he would fix, but he never did. He does not care. Neither does Apple. I told apple that his app does not work, and they don't care either. They said they can't take the app down. All the consumer can do is give it a bad review. People are being cheated out of money. Apple could care less.

Good but hard to edit

I love the app it is the best but it is hard to use your finger to try to make it easy and you can’t share to all those people are mad take screen shots but please make that free

Not free, not worth .99

Really don’t like the deceitful free download, but was willing to try it anyways. Effects are so basic, if I have to buy, I’ll buy a better app.

Not free.

Torvic S. on

App is displayed on the app store as free. Cool, I need an app like this. Once you get in the app, you can edit a photo accordingly, but you can't do anything with it. You can't share it to media platforms. You can't even download the photo onto your phone. It's just there in the app until you pay for premium.

Scam

Horrible they charge per photo & you never get the photo.

Buyer beware

yendlbg on

I would like to have my money back. No instructions provided. The app did not work at all. I tried every conceivable way to make it work. I did not do what it claims to do. IMO it very well might be a scam.
