Photo Light & Exposure Meter Reviews

Could be cheaper

Nice App. Very resposive but it could’ve been cheaper.

Wont even work ?

pimpdaddy36 on

Im pointing the camera at my subject and the shutter speed and aperture don’t even move to tell me the reading ? Even when changing subjects it won’t give me a reading And I paid for the “premium” version

Inconsistent results

CroppedTopped on

United States

I’ve just developed the third roll that I shot using this app, and the results are unacceptable for a paid subscription. The first roll yielded mostly correct images with a few failures. The subsequent two yielded a few correct images with the remainder of the roll massively underexposed. With performance as inconsistent as this, I cannot recommend this app.

Just be up front on your pricing. Stop trying to hide it. And I’m certainly not buying your app without a guest preview. Odd. Big marketing fail.

Needs better indicator of under/over exposure

GarrettStoffel on

If you set limits in the app for shutter and iso, say for shooting film, it may go all the way down to the fastest f stop possible, but there isn’t an under exposure warning. You still need to use the histogram and factor that in.

Love it. My go-to app for light metering

Ted Vitale on

I love this app. I think my only gripe (probably user error) is getting the specific aperture of the lens I’m using. I can’t seem to get a reading for 3.8 in particular so I struggle a little bit to get the exact metering measurements. Is there any documentation on best practices or how to best achieve mor specific aperture readings?

This app is a Gimmick as well!

All I know is downloading the app and trying to use it really stinks. They almost force you to get the paid version. Trying to use the free version of the app is practically impossible to do. All you can do is turn it on and turn it off, nothing else. It’s OK, in a year or two Apple will have a Light Meter app built into their iPhones.

Spot meter is back

Thanks developers for listening to the people who use this app! There was a recent update a couple months back that took away the spot metering function within this application, which was a major downside to the app itself. But I was using the app recently and tapped on the screen accidentally to pleasantly find out that they developers added the function back in! Big thanks to them again!
