Put photos on your home screen using widgets. It also works great with StandBy.
Create as many photo widgets as you like with one or more photos per widget. If you choose more than one photo, it will change photos on a time interval (which can be customized in the settings). Each widget can have separate photos. You can also show photos from an album in your photo library.

■ How it works

■ Limitation
If you make two or more widgets of the same size where all of them are set to show all the photos or the same album, they will show photos in the same order. This is a limitation in the iOS widget system. You can work around this by giving the widgets unique names in the widget configuration.
■ Tip
If you have a widget that cycles between photos and you want to force it to skip to the next photo, long-press the widget, select “Edit Widget”, and then close the edit view. The widget should now have a new photo.

Rare good free app
Great. Simple to use, no tracking no subscription and no cost. All other apps track and want you to rent for life. If you want a picture play widget this is the one. Only issue is I have it set for 1 min and sometimes the picture doesn’t change at all on iOS 16.1. Maybe Apple in their “wisdom” will one day allow customers to choose a faster speed for different pictures and also stop deciding what pictures we can see using Apples widgets.

Does what it’s supposed to
Great app. Been using it for my vaccine passport so that I don’t need to scroll through my photos. One complaint I have is that when I only grant permission to a selection of photos (rather than my whole photo library), the app constantly asks if I want to add more permissions when I click the widget. It should just remember the choice and not ask for more permissions again.

If you're scrolling trying to decide whixh widget photo app to get - stop and get this one. Legit the indie devs are so nice, listening to demands to make a 1 min switching interval... like they put the option but put a lil disclaimer that it might not work bc apple is dumb. but they still give the option! really amazing!
