User interface needs improvement

Mile High Reader on

United States

This app has a lot of potential for facilitating the evaluation of physical therapy patients or for self-evaluation. However the user interface needs improvement. The app instructs users to place your phone either in your pocket or on your hip while taking measurements for the evaluation exercises. This introduces inaccurate measurements when the phone is placed in a pocket because the stop button can’t be accessed immediately when the timer stops. Perhaps the software developer could devise a way to start and stop the exercise timer with voice commands via Siri.

Clever, easy to use app that keeps you responsible about doing PT.

Good concept but breaks all the time

1. It appears that every time Apple does a new software release this app breaks and they have to release a new version. 2. Requires you turn on location tracking including allowing it to get location data from other apps.

App doesn’t work

@rachelrisingup on

Unable to start with initial activity due to glitch in permissions settings. Support services are unresponsive. This app was offered as part of a medical procedure that cost over $5k out of pocket. Disappointed.

Excellence in service

OneStep has been great. After minor injuries to ankle and knee I lost a lot of mobility due to back pain. The physical therapist prescribed by my doctor focused only on my knee even when I asked for a few suggestions for my back. Conventional medicine is dictated by insurance so recovered or not I was allowed only the number of sessions deemed appropriate for a broken knee. With OneStep I can continue affordably until I reach the goals I set for myself - being able to walk and having the ability to do simple household tasks without pain. I never would have been able to figure out what exercises to do on my own. My physical therapist Stephanie, who has had years of experience working with athletes, has observed how I move throughout the process to see where I need to get stronger and adjusts my exercises as needed, and can swap out exercises if something is too difficult for me. The exercises themselves take minutes a day and I appreciate being able to do them from the convenience of my home whenever I want. If I have questions either for my physical therapist or customer service they get back to me quickly. I’m amazed by the progress I have made and the mobility I have gained. I have started walking on a regular basis and am getting back to household chores I was unable to do for a few years like vacuuming, dishes and laundry as well as getting back to gardening which has been wonderful. This concept is phenomenal and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
