Pilot Magazine Reviews

An excellent App.

I used to buy every paper issue and read cover to cover including adds. For a while I found the online versions glitchy but now everything works well. The in depth reports are wonderful. I don’t fly myself, could never afford to, but imagining is fine.

No access

Roger206 on

Since the latest update I cannot access any editions. If I tap Restore Purchases it doesn’t do that and keeps asking for a log in which doesn’t work either. Still takes my money every month though.

Do not buy if you want one issue only

Smiley:Simon on

United Kingdom

The app misleadingly indicates you can buy one issue. In fact you are purchasing an ongoing, monthly subscription- not a single issue. This practice must be stopped. It is misleading and unscrupulous

Downloads don’t work

I spend my working life in airliners so I thought I could read downloaded publications whilst in the air. Wrong! You have to have an internet connection before the app will function. I’ve raised this with Archant and “they’re looking into it”. Well it’s been like it for 12 months of my subscription with no cure so I won’t be bothering to renew. Such a shame as the internet connection only seems to be necessary to subject you to some adverts about subscribing to other magazines.

Very frustrating magazine app.

Today, as I often do on a busy day off, I have been dipping in an out of an article in Pilot magazine. If you allow the tablet to close, when you unlock it, you see the page you were on for 1 second, then it resets to the home page and you have to select the issue then scroll through to get back to where you were. Every bl**dy time! And scrolling through the pages, it usually interprets scrolling past an advert page as wanting to go to the advertiser's website. It is very, very annoying.

I purchased a subscription but an error occurred during the purchase. iTunes Store charged me but I don't have access to the magazine. Daylight rubbery! I contacted both iTunes and the magazine but they have not resolved the issue. I recommend a boycott of this online magazine until they sort themselves out.

Still not good enough

bokat on

Despite the recent update is still dated, buggy and very poor. Why on earth does it not remember what page you were in when you go back in? Or even which issue you were reading? And why are the pages slightly too large for the screen in the standard view? It's main competitor doesn't fail like this and I'll be sticking with the that in future. My subscription is about to expire and I won't be renewing. Such a shame the experience is so bad it discourages you from reading.

Doesn't work

adamfowleruk on

Simply does not load. Always thinks it is offline and never displays. Shame as the magazine is good.

Awful iPhone app

AubRoyal on

United Kingdom

Awful iPhone app, not updated for 2 years, still got black bars across the top and bottom of the screen. Great magazine but appalling app. 1 star.

Just awful

Ricky Bolt on

United Kingdom

Sorry guys, this is terrible. Never works, I saw the print edition had a review of the DA62 I wanted to read, didn't even appear in the app version. Or at least I couldn't find it. It's just rubbish!
