PilotAware Firmware Updater

In day to day use this PilotAware App basically replaces the html access to the config page. It’s a very convenient status check for your Rosetta. Recommended to use every time before committing to flight: power on Rosetta; connect iPad to PilotAware WiFi; start the “Status” page of this App to check that all is in the green: such as temperature, GPS, ADSB, PilotAware. Important, also confirm that “Device Date” and time is correct (i.e., today and now). If all good, start your navigation app and go fly using PilotAware as GPS source. While the html access is still needed for the initial set-up and configuration, the daily preflight is straightforward and quick using this App. Of course, where this App is indispensable is when it comes to software updates of the Rosetta itself (“firmware updates”). What before was, well, difficult to say the least, is now humanly achievable using this App.

Worked perfectly with my PAW Classic

This app is a great solution for updating Pilotaware. I have the classic unit and the recent update worked flawlessly. The key is, to ensure that the phone Wi-Fi is connected to Pilotaware unit and access to mobile network, then just follow the three steps. The app has facilities to directly check the status of the unit and see basic traffic data, to show the unit is working correctly, without opening a web page on the phone. Well done.
