Pivo Cast Reviews

Audio is terrible!!!

ANS8333 on

I was so excited to use this for training my clients. Then problem #1 you can only have 1 clients at a time via cast. Problem #2 - my clients can not hear me unless they have EarPods in. Great we thought we solved at least the audio problem… but nope starting last week I can not hear my clients. Even if we are both wearing EarPods with mics. This is very irritating, not only because I paid a good price for something I can not use, but also because it is waste my clients time. This needs to be resolved. If I was able to hear my clients and then hear me and able to add more clients to the cast it would be a great product. Needs to be resolved!!!

Waiting for Recording feature

My dressage coach lives out of state; and I use Pivo Cast biweekly for our lessons. The horse tracking function seems to work fairly consistently. It does get ‘lost’ occasionally if I ride too close to the camera. I would definitely give this app 5 ⭐️ if they can figure out how to add a record function to the call feature. My current work around strategy is to do a screen record on my iPhone. The only problem is that it will not record the audio when I have my Bluetooth headphones connected! Pivo, if you’re listening please consider developing this function. It will make a WORLD of difference to equestrians everywhere!

So much potential

I took a dressage lesson on my horse using Pivo Meet “call”. It worked well but it would have been nice if I could have recorded a video of the lesson (ie functionality of Pivo Pod app. I tried to use my phones screen recording function but that was a FAIL. Horse had the tracking red square on it and it’s window was really smal

Meet connect - good idea but

I tried to use the PIVO meet connect for zoom in beta form. It’s a great concept to teacher who are still zooming with students however. The pivo easily looses your face and continues to spin trying to fine someone to target. But even when your right in front of it the pivo kept spinning. I had to zoom out of my video screen and pack it to recognize my face. Tends to get annoying since it looses your face a lot, so I gave up on the app. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. Maybe offer a body recognition instead of a face.

Never can get in the room

I use it for personal training and we’ve only got it to work properly once and even when it did it stopped working. The other times it never lets one or the other in the room

Pivo Meet

I have an IPhone 8 Plus and my coach has an Android. We tried to use Pivo Meet for a dressage lesson while she is out of the state. I sent her several links. Either the link would Not let her knock or if it she was able to knock it would state the room was empty for both sender and receiver. It did Not allow the sender to admit the receiver.

Good idea, but...

As a dance teacher looking for a tech solution for teaching intermittent classes virtually, I bought the pivo pod. It’s excellent for what it does. However, this pivo Meet app is marketed as a replacement for zoom, google meet, FaceTime, etc - yet it only allows 1-1 calling. All the applications it claims to be able to replace are quite regularly used for multiple people to interface, and the one on one only option renders this mostly useless for anything other than chatting with your mom while cooking. If it allowed multiple users on a group call, it was solve the problems of nearly every dance teacher in the world right now. As it is... I had to resort to Twitch (which is less than ideal) on short notice, and am still struggling to figure out what to try next. The trouble with live streaming through reatream, is that it’s extremely limited on platforms, and has been very laggy for me. Additionally, it’s a rather pricy subscription if you want to connect zoom, which is also pricy (comparative to the fact that it costs more than Netflix and I both use and enjoy it much less). No, if pivo actually wanted to provide users with real options for utilizing their device, it would allow this app to stream over data and to multiple people in a group. Instead, I’m not using my pivo pod as often as I would like, and it seems like a very clever idea, just supported very badly, with no real concern for the practicality for its customers.

For now 3 stars but has potential for 5 star upgrade

I used Pivo meet to have a dressage lesson on my horse in South Africa with my instructor in Germany. We had to try a couple times to get her in the room, knock was grayed out. We eventually got it to work and it was tracking my horse but 3 minutes later the Pivo stopped moving and I had to restart the app and Pivo. Then we had a nice lesson. I tested the boundaries of the arena though, and it could not keep tracking if I rode around the outside track with Pivo in the middle. So I had to ride in an oval, not going much further on the track than PV and RS. Once they put in auto zoom I expect this issue to go away. I also think having the beta horse tracking mode incorporated with frenzy speed will help greatly as my regular Pivo has no issues in the same arena. Also my phone battery started to die after 45 minutes and a message appeared on the screen that my phone was switching to low power mode. Once that message appeared Pivo did not track for much longer. It appeared to be too slow to keep up with my horse’s trot and eventually stopped moving. Next time I will try it on Wi-Fi with a Wi-Fi wireless modem instead of 4G. However my Wi-Fi modem had slower speeds 6 mbps down and 3 up. It would be nice to know what is the minimum speeds recommended for Pivo meet. And would the front camera be good enough for tracking because it’s not going to stream as much data. I used about 1 GB data during the 45 minutes. Is this the normal range? When do you think you will update this app? It has so much potential. Thank you!
