Ages 2-5. This app is designed for very young children, even if they cannot read yet, to learn about our solar system!
You will be pleasantly surprised how much you child will learn and remember with this app. Children love the vivid images and the audio descriptions of the planets. They may even memorize a fact or two about our amazing solar system!
In a simple way, the app teaches children about each planet's location, size, orbit time, temperature, composition, and more.
Children love big numbers, and there are plenty in this app!
The Information Center contains informative data on each planet. The solar system is shown to scale for children to be able to visualize the planet distances from the sun, as well as, their relative sizes!
The Planet Sizes activity allows children to drag the planets across the screen to get a feel for their relative sizes and learn the order of the planets. Each planet will "snap" into place and it's name will be heard aloud when it is dragged to the correct position.
The Planet Orbits activity allows children to observe the relative speeds of orbit for each planet in proportion to Earth.
The Planet Card Matching activity contains the famous Three-Part Card System used in Montessori Classrooms. Children can drag the picture cards and labels to match them up to the control cards at the top.

My son loves this app - Detailed educational info!
My 3 year old loves this app. He’s been interested and learning about the solar system at home so nice to have another easy-to-use resource. We use some Montessori education methods at home and my son went to a Montessori childcare for two years so he easily understood what to do with the App as it follows the Montessori approach (matching cards etc). My partner was impressed by the detailed solar system facts … which gives our son more to learn/ longer-term use of this app.
I read another users one-star review, but that didn’t discourage me from purchasing as I’ve been satisfied & my son enjoys other Montessori apps by this developer. Potentially if children are used to more high-stimulation cartoon/loud music apps and games then this one may not seem as exciting to them… and if they are not used to the Montessori approach to learning it may not be their thing either.
4 stars (instead of 5) because there is a glitch with the card matching activity - but I’ve reported it to the developer, so hopefully they will resolve it soon. The app is still usable.
Not worth a cent.
This game wasn’t even a game. It’s so boring I’m not surprised my daughter hates it. It’s like the most boring space book placed into an app..
Just ok not interactive enough
The stars are not identified by name when click in an auditory way.
The arrangement of the stars by size does not generate correct or wrong response.
The information is great but you have to actively seek it.
Only one of the 4 tabs is worth it's value.
Good App!
Good app! My 3 year old loves it. A few suggestions:
- metric option (kilometres instead of miles).
- planet card matching - some sort of audible acknowledgement of correct answer and a specific place to drag the cards to.
- planet sizes - similar to above, some sort of acknowledgement of correct order and also audibly naming the planets when you touch them.
Boring
Not very interactive or that informative. Not very nice looking either. Very disappointed.
