In all the years I have had this game it was great until now. It has become impossible to get very far in pvp mode. Once you get past level 20 it’s one win to 10 losses. First of all, plants most of the time cannot counter whatever tricks the zombies throw at you. One second you have a solid defense, and the next they throw an unbalanced trick that wipes them all out and forces you to lose. Most of the boss fights are reasonable except for level 75. Immortica with 3 of those ghost zombies that give amphibious ghosts when they die, PLUS 25 MAX HP JUST SCREAMS UNBALANCED. And even then, you’re unable to open packs quickly because 1 pack costs 100 gems, and your quests only give 30 gems MAX. At first, it seemed unpleasant when I first started out, frequently being defeated by veteran players in PvP mode and sometimes the artificial intelligence random battle portion of the plant/zombie missions (story mode some players might call it). Anyway, after a lot of grinding for gems and recycling for better cards, it seems I was eventually able to build a decent deck that seems to be able to take on average players. I guess I don’t really have anything to complain about. Seems like the developers worked out most of the balancing problems, at least for the hero I play as since I don’t exactly win too much nor lose too much either. Seems mostly up to the player how they put their deck together…though they will need to do a lot of diligent daily grinding to get caught up (though I guess micro-transactions for gems also work if they want to skip the grinding process). It’s a very distasteful attempt to glamorize communism from the ruler’s perspective. It’s abhorrent. Update: just had the most demoralizing defeat I’ve ever had… and there’s only two possible conclusions I can think of. 1. It was someone who’d figured out how to hack the game. 2. It was a bot that possibly malfunctioned or cheated. The opponent somehow managed to play, on each turn all the way up to the fifth turn, the card “you can play a zombie when it’s time for tricks this turn, draw a card”. On the last turn, they played it consecutively maybe 10 times? Mixing in a combo gist or 3 along the way. As far as I am aware, you’re not allowed to have more than 4 of any one type of card in your deck. So tell me, how is this possible? Too bad that the shield mechanic is weighted. Too bad that the cards in your deck are weighted. Too bad that you are constantly used as fodder for players of certain regions. All typical of how EAGames (not pop cap) hate some of their players and favor others, while supporting cheaters in a cloudy pay to win mechanic in all their games. Not to mention zombies are just unbalanced in general how come they can buff their units seven times in one turn? How come they can summon even more units AFTER I defended. They’re able to summon 8 cards in one turn and also heal half their health.
