Description

Need a plaster mold to create your ceramic masterpiece? Do you need a simple plaster form suitable for a one-off project?
Plaster Calculator can help!
It's easy to eye-ball the plaster/water ratio for a one-off or non-critical piece using the island method, such as for the bottom of a wetbox. However, when making multi-part molds or a series of identical molds, the proper ratio is critical to ensure consistency across molds and in the resulting ceramic piece.
Plaster Calculator can help you determine the amount of plaster and water for your mix, ensuring consistent results using many of the common plaster types available, including #1 Pottery Plaster, Hydrostone, Ultracal, and several others.
Key Features:
Calculate the volume of your plaster need based on the dimensions of the most common forms in centimeters, inches, or feet. Forms include square/rectangle (cuboid), cylinder, sphere/half-sphere, pyramid (3 and 4 sided), and cone, as-well-as allowing you to enter an already known volume amount.
Additionally, can calculate the volume of a void space within the plaster mold, such as when making a mold from an existing object, the void volume amount will be removed from the main volume.
Save your mix calculation for later referral.
Allows measurement of plaster and water in pounds/ounces or grams, the default can be changed in the Settings.
Calculates a typical volume reduction of 30% (as recommended by some sources). This value can be changed between 0 (for no adjustment) and 45%, the default value can be changed in the Settings.
Provides plaster weight variations -/+5 points from the standard consistency for the plaster. For example, the standard consistency of #1 Pottery Plaster is 70, variations are provided from 65 to 75 supplying the plaster amount needed for that consistency.
Allows changing of the plaster type prior to saving mix, default plaster type can be changed in the Settings.
Choose between three different color splashes for the application - Blue, Gray, and Purple.
