PlayRenfe is the Wi-Fi connectivity and entertainment platform available on your Renfe journey and in Cercanías suburban rail stations. You can go online with your devices and make the most of your travelling time by working or enjoying films, live football matches, your favourite series and much, much more.
The service is marked with the PlayRenfe icon next to the train access door on all coaches.
This service is available throughout the journey. To enjoy it, please follow the steps below:
1. Go to your device’s settings and select the PlayRenfe Wi-Fi network that you’ll find on the train.
2. Identify yourself. Choose one of these three ways of logging in:
- Your ticket number (you can scan the QR code on your ticket).
- Your Más Renfe card number; enter the ID card or passport number with which you’re registered with Más Renfe as the password.
- With a promotional code.
With our App you’ll be able to enjoy and access all the contents: film releases, live football, with all the league matches and international competitions, the most popular series, children’s TV, programmes, documentaries, games, books, magazines, music and many other services.
Recommended version of the PlayRenfe App: iOS 13.0 or higher (compatible with earlier versions, for which some features may not be available). NOTE: iOS version 15.0 is currently not fully supported.

App works ok
You need the Renfe app with the ticket loaded so you can copy the ticket number. Then connect to the WiFi in the train. It will ask to open this PlayRenfe app. After you accept the cookies you can paste the ticket number and check the obligatory box to accept the terms and conditions. NEXT train ride!!!!! Select the train WiFi and FORGET this network so you can start over again……
Rarely works.
La peor aplicación del planeta. Un 78 % inútil. Renfe debería estar avergonzado. Pero a ellos no les importa.
Terrible app
Simply doesn’t work
Goes in circles
Won’t change languages. I click to set it up and it brings me back to the same page over and over agin.
Doesn’t work/ No funciona
Waste of time trying. I’m on my third AVE in a week and “Error” message pops up every time
What’s the point if I can never access it?
Unfortunately, this app is similar to some of my experiences buying tickets on the Renfe website, full of “error” notifications that get you nowhere. I took a number of train rides on Renfe trains on a recent trip. I had to jump through hoops just to get on the WIFI. I haven’t been able to watch or do anything on the app so I just deleted it. Every time I tried to open it I got an error message. Disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend it.
Worst App ever
App asks for too many details and and verifications just too get a very poor wifi connection. I hope you brought a book.
No funciona
Tengo móvil de españa, he podido bajar el app pero no se conecta a las películas. Pérdida de tiempo.
App doesn’t work
I have installed it 3 times already. It didn’t work at all. An error message came up every time.
