Just select the cities, regions, or even whole countries you want to download, and it will be available for offline use, complete with information on thousands of POIs (Points of Interest), travel guides and Wikipedia articles.
To do this we utilize community driven open data from a number of amazing projects. We use some magik to compress and package it in a format optimized for mobile devices. Pocket Earth then renders its beautiful vector maps on your device using our OpenGL ES based MagikMap technology.

Don’t forget this:
1. Using the GPS features of this app can significantly affect battery life. Only leave GPS enabled when you need to use it. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Pocket Earth only uses GPS in the background for route navigation and gps track recording features.
2. This app uses data from the amazing community driven open mapping project called openstreetmap.org! Coverage detail may vary by region, please visit our website to check the map detail for your regions of interest.
3. Does not currently support all asian texts on the map (Chinese, Japanese, etc).

App indispensável para quem planeja uma viagem ou para quem se aventura nas estradas sem saber nem mesmo para onde vai. Dá para colocar todo tipo de informação dos lugares que se pretende visitar e ao mesmo tempo o app oferece todos os tipos de informações sobre onde estamos. Esse é o app perfeito pra quem passeia pelo mundo!

App decepcionante
Esse aplicativo é uma porcaria. Apesar dele permitir baixar o mapa de uma região para acesso off line ele não tira proveito disso pois ele precisa de uma conexão de internet para traçar uma rota ou até mesmo para ser guiado por uma rota já criada quando on line ele. Me decepcionou muito esse app. Não recomendo.

O melhor!
Perfeito para mochileiros
App absolutamente indispensável para mochileiros!!! O mapa de um país inteiro baixado off-line ocupa em média 100 MB de espaço. Além disso, ao clicar nos locais você tem acesso às informações do Wikivoyage (que é tipo o lonely planet) que dá informações de como chegar, qual lugar mais barato pra comer ali, onde fazer compras, etc.... e a Wikipédia também. Outro recurso bem interessante também é a possibilidade de traçar rotas online (usando o Wi-Fi do hostel ou planejando seu roteiro com antecedência, por exemplo, e ter disponível off line) e claro, também é possível salvar todos os locais que irá visitar com antecedência. Um recurso matador e simples é que sua posição aparece em forma de seta no app, juntando isso ao giroscópio do aparelho você consegue saber pra que lado está olhando no mapa. Já fui pro Japão, Chile, Coreia do Sul e recentemente Mato Grosso do sul, que como todos sabem, 3G nunca funciona lá para aqueles lados de Bonito, e esse app nunca me deixou na mão. Por fim, os mapa utilizados são de um programa open Source que é atualizado frequentemente pela comunidade. Vale cada centavo.
Não viaje sem ele!
Ótima opção pra quem vai viajar! Não tem navegação, mas é possível planejar rotas, salvar locais e ter tudo disponível off-line (com localização GPS) sem usar roaming de dados! Pesquisa de hotéis, restaurantes e vários POI... Muito bom!
Offline maps does not work
The offline map does not work properly...that was the main reason why I bought the app.
Pocket Earth
Good App. Light, draws maps quickly and has good information in them. Sugestions: off line routing, show/hide pins by category (not all of them at same time), possibility to choose what maps load and delete (to save device memory).
