Pocket Frogs: Tiny Pond Keeper

Hasn’t changed much in the past decade, and it’s stayed true to itself. It receives constant support from the developers but still feels like I’m 10 playing this on my dad’s iPhone 4S. I wish they’d bring back the old icon though. I don’t like the current one because it doesn’t match the art style of the game.

I absolutely adore this game, and have played it since I was a kid. It’s so simple but enjoyable and easily a favorite of mine. One thing I would love to see is more colors and or patterns. Don’t get me wrong, the current colors are fantastic but I think you could add so many more variations of colors, lavender, seafoam, gold, silver, etc. Maybe it’s the fact that I love collecting these little frogs, but I think it would be great. Another thing that I think could be cool is if you can swap to collecting toads or tree frogs alongside the classic ones, in a separate area with maybe trees and branches for the tree frogs instead of the pond. I also would like to see different personalities in the frogs that could affect their behavior in the habitats, pond, and races. Think it would be a cute touch. I love this game and hope it will continue to update and improve. Even if you never add these things I will continue to support and enjoy this pleasant little game Much love - Rose

Pocket Frogs, a once perfect mobile game, has been needlessly ruined by unplayable lag, obnoxious advertisements, and a trashy weird mutant ai frog icon. Rest in peace, Pocket Frogs.

Loved this game! All of my data was lost, but after reaching out, they gave me coins and a few levels to help me out! Only issue I have is how glitchy the game is offline or in airplane mode.

Been playing for years and this was my favorite game. Got a new iPhone and the app didn’t transfer over. I hadn’t updated the app on the old phone to avoid the ad version. I tried app sharing over airdrop and that didn’t work. Decided to just install the app and it is as bad as other reviewers note. The menu section is not a clean screen-looks off center and the notification exclamation points to click for ads and paying options is annoying. You don’t ever know when an ad is going to pop up and when they do, they last too long. Tried on the old phone to setup that cloud to save my data (should be available on Game Center but it’s not have to use their own cloud). Email with a code never loaded and the email doesn’t show up on the new phone which is probably a good sign that it’s protecting me from a junk cloud site. Will be deleting the app on the new phone (just kept long enough to write a review). Will keep playing on the old phone because it’s still the before ad-flooding version until the battery can’t be charged anymore. It was a good run while it lasted.

I watched 5 ads to get a rare scenery award and got NOTHING

I used to play this game as a kid and loved it at the time! It's sad to see what it's become since then. TLDR: suspicious lag, cheapo AI thumbnail, ads -- they've taken a classic and turned it into shovelware. 1) The lag makes this game borderline unplayable past like level 3. I don't know what processes are running in the background, but with the amount of ads it throws at me, I can't assume anything good... (that is to say, it makes me wonder what data it's tracking/searching for if the framerate is so drastically lowered). I know enough about Unity to know that any basic game that's decently programmed shouldn't ever lag this much. Unity might be a beginner-friendly engine that abstracts stuff, but this is still unplayable. 2) Bad AI-generated thumbnail image screams cheap and low-quality; the original was a significantly better design choice. The frogs in the game don't remotely resemble the thumbnail frog (which has a weird fish tail?) and don't swim. 3) Way too many trashy pop up ads for poor-quality, scammy games and whatever. They give you the choice to watch these ads for "free" stuff, then force you to watch the ads anyway -- makes me not even want to bother watching the ads for the free stuff at all. And again, the amount of ads reflect the greed behind the company, so it makes me suspicious of the lag and what data it's after on my device. Coupled with that AI thumbnail, and it just reeks of ad-farming garbage. I'm disappointed, feels like being slapped in the nostalgia.

Ok so I LOVE this game, I’ve been playing for years but only recently started playing again. Thing is, levels are really hard to achieve and the ads are very annoying. Great game for when you’re bored on a long flight though. Overall it’s fun but the ads are very annoying

Love playing this game while listening to music and just using it to unwind
