Premium constantly logs out

The app constantly logs out of my premium sub (apple account log in) and DELETES my highlights. PLEASE FIX THIS

Version 8 full of bugs, sometimes unusable

John Lam on

United States

Version 8 deletes or loses items from my collection, and searching cannot find them. It crashes repeatably version after version, major bugs unfixed. Render fails repeatably (even) on simplified document objects. It collapsed my capitalized tags to lower case, and broke my tags database. What’s become of Mozilla? I’ve nearly stopped using Firefox because bugs and crashes there have also multiplied and i no longer trust the organization to build good software like they once did. Please revert Pocket to Version 6 or 7.

Unformed

Longtime Premium subscriber. Absolutely loved the app. However, over the years it had deteriorated. It hard to delete articles, search does not turn up relevant results, and it crashes very few minutes. Also, it used to save articles offline, even if it no longer existed, and now it seems to do a sort of refresh that forces the article to disappear if it’s no longer available.

Very difficult to use these days.

I use the web app often, but the mobile app frequently just shows a blank page. Reading of articles gets interrupted because the app kicks you back to the dashboard constantly.

Doesn't save articles anymore

Skippazaur on

This app used to do the one thing I needed it to do, which is let me read articles when I don't have data. But it recently stopped saving.

“Listen” no working.

I have updated the app and iOS, but I am no longer able to listen to articles. This is very frustrating 🙁

Really sad to see them just let this app slowly die like this. The web site isn't bad, but it doesn't support highlights on iPad Safari.

Avoid doing updates on apps

8.23.0 Update: Read version update notes for the past few updates focusing on Bugs so I decided to do an update to hopefully fix a bug where tag renaming wasn’t saving. Unfortunately the latest update has caused Pocket not to load at all. Yes I submitted a support ticket already. Previous: Ever since the redesign it has been the overall functionality of the app has become worse with updates being a roll of the dice between getting minor bugs fixed or new app breaking bugs getting introduced. Judging by the recent reviews, it appears the most recent two updates are the latter. I am at the point where I will no longer download updates for the app for the fear that it will be further broken and unfixed as the development focuses on new “features” that seem to be also broken and/or focused on monetization instead of stabilization of user experience. Even 4-5 months ago the ability to remove tags has stopped working with a suggestion from Support being to delete existing tags. Articles that I had archived since using the app over a decade ago and were accessible prior to the redesign are still inaccessible since the redesign. Pocket management please focus your next couple of development cycles on bug fixing instead of monetization. People aren’t going to want to spend money on something that is constantly getting broken and unfixed.

It’s getting worse and worse

I’ve used Pocket for at least 10 years and used to really like and rely on it. But in the last maybe year or so, it has made changes for the worse. You can no longer control the size of the type, certain parts of the type are inexplicably huge, and it no longer scrolls properly. In fact, it’ll bounce down from where you are to the end for no reason, and the scrolling no longer accurately measures how far you are in the article. I still use it for its “read it later” properties, but now I avoid it as much as possible. I don’t understand how an app to make conscious changes to make the user experience worse with every update. Just a bummer Update: still the same problems

Can’t read saved articles without WiFi anymore.

Hiflyin77 on

The only reason I downloaded this app was to be able to read articles offline. Now when I try and open a saved article offline I just get grey bars where there should be text. PS: stop telling people to go to Mozilla’s site to submit a form. Just fix your app.
