If you want to stay safe on the road, you have the ability to hire mercenaries as they can help protect you. Keep in mind though that they have to be paid otherwise they will just go away. Use these mercenaries to battle savages that try to steal your cargo.
As you play, you can acquire illegal goods but you have to be aware of the guards as they can catch you. Pocket Trader comes with a wonderful quest system that will always keep you coming back for more as you explore more gameplay options and have fun.
