PocketGuide, the world’s leading audio city guide application, reveals the best stories, insider hangouts and must-see sights in more than 150 major cities and tourist destinations.
PocketGuide turns your mobile device into a personal tour guide: The GPS figures out where you are, and a voice recording, made by a local guide, describes the sights around you. You don’t need to read text from your phone, just listen and enjoy a city’s attractions while your virtual tour guide explains it all and shares personal insights.
PocketGuide works offline, so you save on roaming charges, and it includes loads of critical reviews that help you decide where to eat, drink and shop.
We also have fascinating themed tours, for those who want to go off the beaten path. Find the top tapas in Barcelona, get chic in NYC’s East Village or follow the trail of a 19th century serial killer in London.
Whether you're interested in the main sights or "the road less traveled", PocketGuide is ready to take you there.
Please note that continuous use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Stratford upon Avon
Right from the start this was amazing, we were guided first to the beginning of the tour via Google maps, as we approached the start a voice introduced her self. There were 25 points of interest on the tour, we were guided seamlessly to each point using voice and interactive maps and each time we approached a point the narrator would explain where we were and why and pictures appear under the map. We also used my Apple Air Pods using one pod each allowed both of us to listen. Brilliant, and you finally end up where you started. Priceless!
Too many adverts
The actual tour was interesting and easy to follow but I was disappointed by the constant adverts for different places/experiences that I could ‘book now’ through the app. I expect to have to listen to adverts if I am not paying for a product but if I’ve paid for it I feel like I should at least have the chance to ‘opt out’ of advert content. The adverts were annoying and distracted from an otherwise enjoyable tour.
Awesome
the best tourist guide I've ever used. I'm very frequently traveling and during my trips I could test it almost all around the world. I can state works perfectly everywhere ;) I can only recommend
Can't see any city
After the new update today, when searching nothing comes up. I've tried even London and nothing is showed is blank
Brilliant
We decided to try this after hiring a rather unsatisfactory guide at the Colosseum. The Rome package was either £8 or free if you watched a 30 second advert. Baffling, as it would have been well worth £8 but who am I to argue. Anyway, the following day we set out with headphones and a spare battery (it's heavy on battery) to do the Forum tour.
The guide is great. Interesting, well judged on length, informative. It's lovely that you don't have to interact, it just plays as you get to each spot. It was FAR better than the tour guide we paid for locally.
So, why not 5*? Well, I wondered about it, but each of us had to restart the app a couple of times as it lost GPS, and at one point in the Forum the directions didn't work. So, needs a little polishing, but seriously you should download anyway, and if they fix those monor glitches it would be 5*. In fact, sod it, going to 5* it anyway as we seriously enjoyed it.
Mr
This is an indispensable app for city visitors and saves so much time getting to grips with both the main and lesser known sights and activities. ( I use it together with Spotted By Locals). Sorted.
Excellent
Am off to Paris next week and am looking forward to using this.
A 'Must Have'
Fantastic app, for those like me that enjoy short city breaks in Europe.
Gives a good overview of the city and all the walks/tours are doable, with even recommended watering holes en route.
Very good value.
Some city tours are even free, if you connect via 3/4G, but beware if using abroad because of roaming data charges.
Best to buy at a cost of just over a pint of beer.
Impractical
Imagine this as an idea. A talking guide where you choose a 4 hour route and listen to a voice on your phone telling you to "look right" and "turn left" as it relates facts of historical interest. Not for me.
Squib
Dreadful don't buy. Crashes on and off line therefore the in app map purchases are inaccessible and a rip off. Steer clear.
