Polypipe Smart

Have had Polypipe ufh and rads on separate stats for over 2 years now and can’t believe how unreliable it has been. We’ve had multiple occasions with the rads coming on when they’re not wanted like middle of summer while you’re asleep, try getting back off after you’ve spent an hour in the middle of the night trying to turn your heating off, sometimes when it’s cold you don’t realise the heatings been on all day when you’re out because you think it’s programmed to come on when you get home. We’ve seen some improvement since fitting an extended antenna. It’s annoying that so much gas is being used unnecessarily. Recently the under floor heating disappears from the app so you have to then add the zone again only for it to forget it within a day. If you use optimum start and set your temp say at 21 degrees at 6am when the app forgets the zone it forgets this too and the floor heating just comes on at 6 taking 2 hours to get up to temp as we leave the house. I was pleased when we had a heating system installed that we could control from our phones but it’s been a total let down and as soon as I can figure out an alternative control system this lot will be in a skip somewhere. Someone needs to have a good look at this because it’s just not good enough.

Honestly guys. You are the leading underfloor heating specialists in UK and this is a joke of an app. Looks like a GCSE project gone wrong. Doesn’t improve. Crashes. Invest in the tech guys and stop being 20 years behind. How can you run a company like this?!

Never open on first attempt. Always crashes!!!

I have had this app for two years but still cannot understand it, other than for basic use. There are no instructions! Some ‘zones’ cease working and then come back randomly. Profiles seen to change by themselves. I have no idea about ‘recipes’ and what is the difference between ‘timer’ (which automatically installed for two of my rooms ) and the profiles for the same rooms? How do I get rid of ‘timers’. All the above should be available to problem solve with instructions - but where are the instructions for this confusing and flaky app?

When it works, it’s fine. The user interface is a bit old hat, but the information is useful and readable and it’s straightforward managing the heating. The problem is it is glitchy, as others have said. Navigating through the app can send you back to the Home Screen and lately, it’s started crashing. Even worse, it won’t connect to my smart hub at the moment, rendering a £170 piece of kit useful. Very frustrating.

We have a 10 room system and I have been trying to program on my phone having difficulty. We have no instructions for the App.

Where are the instructions? I cannot really rate this app any more than a one as I don’t know have to fully use it. Yes I can control the heating on a basic level but as for the recipes and all other functions who knows? Poor that there is not a user manual
