GPS Function worked great for me and kept me pointed in right direction, of course so did free google maps. Disappointed that clicking a place on map didn’t bring up info, graphics are very early 90s, info on very few places. What was there I found informative. $.99 would have been a better price for what you get but was nice to have GPS since street signs don’t match what’s on map.
Pompei
Not worth the money. Not user friendly and not a good source to use to find your way around the site.
Not worth it
If all you need is a GPS of Pompei, then it would be good. But as an guide- not so much. It lists sites, but the sites and the info about them do not link to the gps location, so I was constantly having to flip back to see if there was more info. If you need a low cost app, use Rick Steves, or get the audio guides. Don’t waste your money
Not very useful
I attempted to use this app with full cellphone coverage, but was not able to get it to display accurate information on locations inside the walls. Plus items were locked off that the map said you should be able to see. I know that is What the map is for, but it needs to be updated if items have been locked off for months.
Not working
$2.99 and it’s not even working. Rip off
Great then and now
I did not use the app for GPS / positioning so I can not speak to that functionality. But the app is very helpful in providing a comparison between the current day ruin and the appearance in antiquity. While the number of sites included is somewhat limited (~15), it includes key public and private sites which provides a good overview of what Pompeii would have looked like. I found it worth $3
Terrible guide for Pompeii !
It’s a shame this app is SO bad. The gps mapping function does not work, which was my primary purpose for buying. There are no links from the map to any content, including the several buildings that are highlighted on the home page.
I saw this advertised at the entry to the ruins. It’s a shame such an amazing historical site as Pompeii has such a poor mapping app.
I want my money back!
A major glitch
The GPS dot is not reliable- kept disappearing, I would have to exit App go to Compass reposition and then go back to App. After 2 seconds it would disappear again.
Terrible app not worth a penny
App could not use the gps to indicate my location on the map, so the main feature is not working. Pictures of before and after are also not good. Overall, one of the worst guide apps I ever tried.
Poor GPS
GPS worked very poorly to barely at all. Gave up on the app after a 1/2 hr. Not a worthwhile app without the GPS functionality.
GPS and location services were activated. Also had voice and data active for what it's worth.
Just tried using the app this afternoon, July 1, 2016.
Fix the GPS problem and it would be an app worth the money, as it is easy to get lost/not find what you want find.
