Portable Ultra Short Throw Pro Reviews

Zero support

Danneskjold on

United States

This product felt like a really innovative one that was all but abandoned by Sony. No updates for years, dropping applications that once worked with the device and, frustratingly, only about a 25% chance of detecting HDMI due to who knows what (and troubleshooting tips that don’t go beyond “is HDMI plugged in?” I share views of others — faith in Sony lost.

Wow what a failure.

Geren Micol on

United States

This is an expensive projector with zero way to actually use it on any regular basis due to this embarrassing and useless app. Possibly the worst app I've ever used in the history of the iPhone back to day 1!!!!!!!!!

This app is really bad

fmoo on

United States

It barely works. Wish the device supported HDMI-CEC or any sort of standard RF signals so I wouldn’t have to mess with this tire fire of an app.

App doesn't work/connect

sbantco on

United States

Simply put, this app doesn't work. It never connects to the projector. And the developer hasn't done anything in months to remedy the issues.

Excellent hardware, software needs some work

Aluni2230 on

United States

Sony has come so close to a highly compelling product. If the software was as good as the hardware it would be a Home run! It uses Bluetooth so not sure why it can’t connect like a good Bluetooth headphone. The app is very slow.

App is bad, projector is good

Zippo517 on

United States

Rarely connects.

Worst app

P@r@s on

United States

Projector is great but this application ruins user experience with no alternatives.

Update does not work

PCofNYC on

United States

Very bad software. The app freeze at transferring update. The Sony website says “stop and close the application, then restart » does not work. Could not update since version 1.7. With version 3 can’t even connect to the projector, now unusable. Sony is not serious and incompetent.

app is garbage

dohdohdohmah on

United States

i want to run my hdmi device every time i turn on the projector, not the clock, not my pictures. please make it so that i don't have launch the app to switch to HDMI every time...

I believe in you SONY!!!!

Snake_iiis on

United States

Obviously at this point Sony has to be fully aware that this app is horrible and the hardware has huge potential, based upon them working diligently to update the software. I will patiently wait for them to update the software to a degree unimaginable. It's in it’s infancy stages so don't let us down SONY!
