I think the app is great but when exploring I chose the sort by ‘Near Me’ and it didn’t seem to work very well, hence only 4 stars. Please note it won’t stop me coming back. I love this place!

I used the app around the village to read and listen to the history. The spoken commentary is generally a subset of the written text but sometimes appears to contain unique information so I needed to read and listen to both for the whole story. I enabled location services and was surprised by the amount of battery that the app consumes - 44% today meaning my battery is nearly flat, an unusual occurrence for me. I have now exited the app.
Great place to visit and great app.
We have visited three times now and really love it. There is a such a nice atmosphere and we enjoy the fact that we can access the beach and the woodland walk too
Sadly, it wouldn’t work for me. I got as far as “Explore” and then it cut out. This happened repeatedly.
It’s a beautiful place the staff are so pleasant especially Jack who picked us up when we 1st arrived . We had dinner in the castle the 1st night which was as good but the quality of the food is far superior in the hotel where we ate on the 2nd night. Our apartment anchor 1 was lovely and clean and has everything you could need with fabulous views. The pool is a nice size and not too busy as only residents are allowed to use it but you could do with more umbrellas as we were experiencing a heat wave 32!! The only thing that disappointed us was the final bill when we checked out . A whiskey and beers, snacks and a bottle of wine had been added and also they charged us for fish and chips which should have been included in the overall stay price . This system needs revision as it obviously isn’t working. However we would return . Reception staff sorted this out for us . Thanks regards Denny and Michaela Gledhill
Seemed like a really good app when I loaded it and I was looking forward to using it on my forthcoming visit. However, when I got there I found there was no Sky mobile signal (o2 I think) so you couldn’t use it. Needs to fully downloadable to your phone before you go.
