PortX FAQ
Is PortX free?
Yes, PortX is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is PortX legit?
🤔 The PortX app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
It is nice free App for SSH. Works fine for majority of the use cases. Would recommend it to anyone using mac.
I have few suggestions for improvement:
1. Add logging capability
2. It is not possible to move connection between folders. Please improve this
Problem with language
So nice app, but there is problem with language change. If I switch to another app, switch language to any non english, and get back to PortX, then I can’t change language in console view.
The first time you have a problem
I’m so happy you found it

Very nice app!
Very nice app!
It works well with macOS Catalina
Using this app to access Arista switch. Working well. Very happy to find this app. Best of all, no subscription.
Works Very Well
If you could add some "Termius" features that would be great!
Also, I feel this lacks "progress indicators". It's not clear when uploading to overwrite a folder that it is uploading, and the processing percentage it is at.
It shows this for top level items in a small circle which replaces the folder icon until the transfer is complete. But when dropping a folder from left pane, to/within a folder on the right pane, there is no indication that this is being transferred. I do confirm the upload has transferred, but not sure if it is or when it is completed, because of no visible indicator. So I think it would be good, and I do suggest a feature or UI imporvement of a constant visible progress indicator. Maybe at the top of the pane in which the transfer is being transferred. Or maybe make the whole pane blink or fade until the transfer is complete. Or just a standard circle indicator attached to the app window UI.
So far I love it
I originally downloaded this version from the App store, then noticed their note that the version on their website also includes the local shell. So far I'm loving his app. It's been a great way to manage my frequent ssh/sftp sessions. I appreciate the ability to chance the appearance of the session as well as being able to split the window horizontally or vertically. A couple of things that I would put on my wishlist for future updates would be:
-Setting a default SSH window color (this helps me instantly know that I'm in an ssh session as opposed to the local shell.
-The ability to send the same commands to multiple split window sessions simultaneously. Think xshell.
-Maybe better documentation on how to utilize some of the other features like X forwarding, etc.
Overall, this is a fantastic app. Thank you.
Kind of OK, as long as you don't like options
Decent enough as long as you like it EXACTLY how the developer set it up. There is not even an option to change the font, which is incredibly unfriendly to people with vision issues...also, it would be nice to swap to MenloNF so that my prompt for zsh would actually work, unlike with this default fault.
