Powder Project Reviews

Give steepness in degrees

/boot on

United States

It would make sense to give the steepness in degrees, rather than % grade. Most avalanche teaching and forecasts talk about degrees.

Please add Arizona

Joeyo on

United States

There is some good skiing in Northern AZ and we even have our own avalanche center. Unfortunately nothing in the app about AZ, either in the Flagstaff or White Mountain areas.

So so helpful

Milesalex on

United States

I’ll be in Colorado for the winter and the reviews and maps are so helpful to get to know the areas and how to travel safely.

Couldn’t ask for a more useful app

lovefromWA on

United States

I use all of the REI apps to plan outings and gather beta, no better place to start adventure planning!

Fixed dark mode but broke light mode

Shep88 on

United States

The search field font color needs to be fixed in light mode. The current contrast is nearly impossible to read. The results show up but if you have a typo you can’t see it. Would be a better app if the recording showed your full track statistics like Strava. Currently recording in this app is only useful if you want to add a new track not already in the map.

Trail......

Mixednutz2 on

United States

Unfortunately not everyone lives near snow! I thought this was a “trail” guide. Yes! I see the snow flake but I “assumed” it would be trails....gotta have a logo, I get it...snow, for “these trails”. Of course....if you wanna ever do a “research project”, how Southern Ladies handle learning how to snow ski, yet have never even seen snow, give me a chance! It’ll be fun! Trying to earn enough $ to go on one of ur REI trips.....they sOuNd like FuN! Thanks for reading!

Missing cross country ski trails

Outdoor Taos on

United States

This is an interesting app in the pantheon of REI project apps. What’s missing is a connection for the cross country skier who enjoys back country off trail routes. There’s an opportunity here to provide a combination app that serves both the back country skier who skis with skins And seeks seeks big mountain downhill opportunities and the cross country skier who may be toying with the idea of crossing over from the typical cross country ski /Snowshoeing domain to view the terrain that is accessed by the back country skier. In fact when I skied the Libby Creek Trail recently, which had originally been billed for cross country skiing, I had to use the mountain bike project app to locate the hinterland portions of the trail where no one had skied yet and The trail would become lost due to snow overs and a few downed trees.

Fun

Kbear57 on

Would love if the presented slope in degrees rather than percent

Seems the website is better

Me travel on

United States

So much functionality in the website. So confusing to use the app

Changed

NevinWeekss on

United States

Had the app a long time ago and deleted I forget why because it was pretty good. Got it again today and it changed a lot. A lot less trails are shown and it's harder to use than I remember.
