PrintXchg

Art Print Trading Platform

Published by: Art4now

Description

- A PEER-TO-PEER ART MARKET TRADING PLATFORM - A BID/ASK marketplace like a stock market. Like stocks, art editions are published in limited numbers in an “IPO” (Initial Publishing Offer) and then trade on the secondary market, typically at auction. PrintXchg is a digital market exchange for trading these collectibles directly.
- BUYERS PAY LESS - SELLERS GET MORE. Before PrintXchg, resales happened at auction houses or on consignment at 35%+ spreads, or online with no guarantee of authenticity. PrintXchg collectors offer prints directly to buyers. Buyers Bid for them or Ask for prints they want, guided by our free market price data. When a Bid & Ask cross, the sale happens automatically at two-thirds lower transaction costs than traditional channels, with authenticity verified.
- AUTHENTICITY AND CONDITION GUARANTEED. Sellers ship the print to PrintXchg for verification and condition review by print specialists. We ship to the Buyer only when the print is verified.
- BUILD AND TRACK PORTFOLIOS. PrintXchg transactions are automatically added to your Portfolio. Works bought elsewhere can also be added. Values are updated as works trade both on PrintXchg and major auction houses. If someone bids for an item in your Portfolio that you haven’t posted for sale, you can be notified. You can also be notified of activity in an artist or artwork you're following.
- FREE MARKET DATA. While others charge, our price database is free and more accurate. On PrintXchg, auction house sales are listed net of the 20% - 25% Buyer’s Premium other services leave in. PrintXchg gives a truer picture of what the art actually sold for - what you can expect to net if you sell and what you'll pay if you buy. Other data services don't mention that the seller received 30% - 35% less of the prices they quote because of the 10% seller's premium and 20% - 25% buyer's, inflating the apparent value of the art itself, pushing buyers to pay too much, even as sellers get less.
- A TRANSPARENT LIQUID MARKET OF PROVEN INVESTMENTS. Bids, Asks and Sold statistics provide transparency to guide your market activity. By creating a 24/7 market, PrintXchg makes fine art editions a truly liquid investment. Listed prints have proven investment value, having traded at major auction houses or been included in the collection of a major museum.
- PRIVATE - Anonymity is maintained throughout the process. No one knows your identity or what you own.
