productionTimer allows an iOS device to display a full-screen countdown clock on an external monitor. Video is taken directly out of the device via the Apple Lightning to HDMI adapter. The signal can be routed to a nearby monitor with a standard HDMI cable or sent longer distances with HDMI over Cat-5/5e/6 or even fiber. The signal can also be taken into a video switching system where it can be routed to any number of destinations. Using a switcher, you can even key out the background and have a great countdown clock to display on screen over other graphics - perfect for getting attendees back from breaks on time. If you are bold enough to forego the cables an AirPlay destination, like AppleTV, can be used as the external monitor.
A "warning" changes the background of the clock to a user-defined color at a specified time - great for getting the talent to notice they need to be wrapping up or should be transitioning to Q&A. Once time is up, the background can also be turned any number of user-selected colors.
Need to send a note downstage but don't have the switching in place to get it in the confidence monitor? Production Timer allows the operator to type a short message and display it on the remote clock display. The clock moves towards the top and a large, clear message is displayed below it. One touch of a button and it's back to normal.
Event professionals know the importance of running on time and the challenges that come with it. Need to make up a few minutes? Use "Time-Travel" to make make the clock run faster than reality. Just set the time of day you would like the clock to hit "0" and productionTimer will figure out the rest.

Very useful app for events!!!

Many professional features - I'm missing an overtime function!

good, but could be better

I think so far best meeting timer I have used, support for the cable would be nice, but airplay is fine. Please fix issue with settings not saving, I always have to reset my color settings because they do not save on my ipad air2.

Amazing app. Please at 3-4 presets that can be user defined?

Great app

Purchased this app due to that our speaker timer was in use and needed another in a snap. Great app, could use + or - min. Would be cool if you could put a logo under the timer, and or background of timer.

Missing 2 features

Great app!! I would love to see one missing feature. iPhone control. I'd like to be able to sync my phone with the timer and send messages so the iPad is the display only.

I really like this app; it's straight-forward and has a lot of good features that let it work in a professional environment. A few improvements to be made, but overall: very nice.

Public Comment Timekeeper

Fantastic timer for ‘public comment’ meetings. Easy to use for video production work or to help in government meetings where opposing parties have agreed upon time slots for presentations. Customizable warning colors and quick timer reset has helped bring order & respect for others. Ability to specify the output display is great (especially when your board room monitors are only capable of running at a fixed resolution). 5 stars!

Easy to operate.

This little piece of software is an excellent example of utilizing an iOS device in a professional AV setting. The portability, affordability and easy of operation make this an excellent substitute to bulky, expensive hardware timer systems. The Time-Travel feature makes speeding the clock up much easier. The program asks you exactly what time you want the clock to hit “0” and it does the math for you. No guessing what multiple you need to speed the clock up to end on time. We use this app to output the clock to our switching systems to send downstage as well as into all the multi viewers using a Grass Valley ADVC-G1 to do the conversion to HD-SDI.

The only professional-grade iPad countdown

This is a great substitute for a computer-based speaker timer. The external display support, ability to make the clock run faster, and even send messages to the talent make this not only a replacement for SpeakerTimer Pro, but it $85 less and doesn't tie up and an expensive laptop! Looking forward to additional features and hoping for iPod touch support in a future release!
