Exactly what I was looking for! Helps me keep track of my exercise reps and I love the audio functions letting me know when it’s time to move on to the next rep. Thank you so much for creating this wonderful app!
I have been able to use PT Timer to set up physical therapy, stretching and strength routines, and I feel like I’ve just scratched the surface to its fullest potential! I’m impressed how well thought out this app is, and if you can’t figure something out or think something’s not working correctly or have a feature wish, the developer answers just about immediately! I haven’t experienced customer support to this level in an app before. I also use PT Timer for my yoga asana practice and as a meditation timer. Even as a Pomodoro timer! The possibilities are endless.
I wish I had found this app years ago. I’ve historically had limited success with physical therapy or rehabilitation exercises because they’re boring, I procrastinate and run out of time, it feels overwhelming, I can’t keep track of when I did what, etc, etc. This app let me take out all the nonsense and just schedule something realistic and finite every day, and easily see when I’m done. I love the ability to send a report of my planned or actual exercises. The user interface is a little quirky at times with menus not exactly where I would expect them, but the learning curve is SO worth it. The developer plans to add the ability to share your exercises and workouts with other people. When this is added, it will be even better. But I already love it so much I can’t give it less than 5 stars.
If they can get it to stop crashing, it seemed like it would be helpful for coaching you through. Unluckily, it kept crashing while I was setting up my exercises and there were only 6 total.
PT Timer has most of the features I need but I won’t use it because it’s a subscription. I’d gladly pay for this app once and for major upgrades. It’s offputting to have the 1st thing you see in the app is a license agreement. How silly. Despite the developer’s claim, they do track you. They send home your UUID. The essential missing thing is the ability to add a photo for your PT exercise. My exercises should sync between all my devices, especially if folks pay a monthly fee. Exercises do export and import fine.
This is a very flexible app. But I added a photo to an exercise and it got chopped off. I’m unable to find a way to delete the photo. If I try to add an additional photo, the app aborts.
Therapy for my broken shoulder requires that I do ten reps, holding for 10 seconds, twice, for multiple exercises. I’m old. I can’t keep track of reps while also counting down seconds! And I’ll unconsciously cheat if I can; this stuff is painful. The PT facility itself uses a wonderful, expensive app that shows the exercises…but does it have a count down with hold times? It does not. It just swings blithely through the exercises. Useless!! It took me half a day to find an app that does what I want and this is it. It’s perfect. It was simple to set it up they way I wanted it. Get ready, start, hold… Put it this way, I’m stingy as heck but didn’t hesitate to pay the small amount when my free trial ended. In fact, I may explore beyond my simple 10x10 setup.
PT Timer provides a comprehensive and well organized exercise routine manager. PT Timer is superior to all the other exercise apps I sampled. I purchased and have been using PT Timer since 2017. Just now I had reason to ask a couple of questions about the app. The developer’s response to my query was timely and thorough, as was the reply to my follow up question. PT Timer has proven to be one of the best iOS apps I have bought and used.
This app is worth the price. It is a great app for helping time and count exercises. It allows for one to completely customize the timing of your exercise routine, input tools necessary to complete the exercises, and add pictures, instructions, and website links for each. It does the job of counting and timing movements so that you can concentrate on form. I love this app and the customizability. If you need equipment that is not listed in the app the developers are super responsive and will add it to the app for you (I believe they are changing it so that you can enter equipment on your own.) I like that I don’t have to log in or create an account to use it - just open the app and go, but I don’t think the app will sink with other devices (I could be wrong on that). I do love this app and use it regularly, but because it’s not 100% what I’d like it to be, therefore, I gave it only 4 stars, but it does what it claims to do very well. The following is a list of specific pros and cons: 1. All exercises must be entered in manually. Pro-great for customization, once exercises are entered you are good to go, you can modify all aspects of timing and counts as you get stronger or more familiar with routines. Con- its time consuming, it doesn’t come with any existing exercise except 3 examples, did I mention I find this very time consuming - (but people not so anal retentive can probably do it much quicker than I can.) 2. The app is not intuitive as I would like. Pro-it’s super easy to use once you set up your exercise and routines. Con-some aspects of the app like changing web links, what category it falls into -stretching vs strength, changing exercise from single count to changing sides, volume of app vs ambient music, and adding equipment take some time to figure out how to do, but it is possible to do and becomes more intuitive as you work with the app. 3. Pro-you can easily modify timing while performing exercise reps/sets - just double tap the screen. You can also see instructions by tapping the screen. 4. Pro-You can link websites, add instructions, and pictures. Con-you can not add videos from your photo library. 5. Con-I would like to link audio to exercises that I can set to play while performing exercises to remind me of form (like when in a class the instructor will verbally tell you to engage certain muscles, relax others, how to align yourself or remind you not to do common mistakes) and be able to turn it on or off as needed, but the app c
