The app works!
I recently purchased a QingPing air quality monitor lite because I saw it supports Apple HomeKit and it would be a great addition to my IoT setup. Looking at the old one star reviews and comments of problems with registration and looping screens it didn’t give me a feeling of confidence going in. However, I was pleasantly surprised that everything works! I don’t normally write reviews, but I think this deserves a review to update those coming in that the smart device they have purchased has functional app and services. So I am in Canada, and I was able to: - Register an account in the QingPing+ app with my gmail. - Receive verification code to my email. - And complete my registration. Then for Apple Home: - I was able to add the device using the Apple Home app by scanning the HomeKit QR sticker under the air monitor. It scanned and found the device. And magically setup everything correctly. No manual wifi setup or strange giving wifi password nonsense. It simply worked. The QingPing+ app worked as expected. The interface is nice and clean. The data from the air quality monitor streams to both the App and Apple Home in real time. And the QingPing app has a historical log for each data point. That’s fantastic! But not everything was smooth sailing. While experimenting with the app, I found that my device had a firmware upgrade available. I pressed to upgrade and it was fairly fast (about 2-3 minutes). But upon finishing upgrading, the device rebooted and showed E2 error on the PM2.5 and PM10 sensor. It can be seen on the app and the device. I was super scared that the firmware upgrade may have wrecked my brand new device. I calmed down and did what any sane person would do. I rebooted the device by holding the power button. Upon bootup all the sensors were working and the error was gone. Phew! What as spook! I write this review because after much research, I found that the little smart air quality monitor had the best design and built. I used to own a fake $30 dollar CO2 monitor which gave random reading and incorrect information. The QingPing Air quality monitor lite has a real CO2 sensor that gives accurate and precise data that I can rely on. After getting my package from Amazon, I came to write a review to give real feedback to the people developing this device and the services around it, and let them know that I enjoy using it. I hope this review will help others purchasing this air quality monitor (among other products). Which will ultimate
